this morning me and my brother was so bored also being around 330am we decided to look at the shifter and see what we could do
so we took the boot off and tired to get the holding piece for the boot off but found out that there are 2 screws at the bottom end.
we both noticed that there was a piece that looked like that might beable to un screwed. after taking a pair of channel locks to it and lots of twisting we finally got it off, and damn what a bitch it was.
using the stock shifter we made it into a short shifter and when i get a pict ill post looks tight and damn it feels good!

Yea if you heat up that part of the shifter(the extension) with a heat gun it comes off real easy, we have it on all of our protege's.

i wish i would have known and should have done a thread search, more than likely would have made it more easy on me lol but it looks tight!
