I went to the track last night and got some very dismal times. I ran a best of 16.3 @ 93 mph. If anyone can help me with how to launch and shift this car I would greatly appreciate it. I bought this car because it's faster than my truck, but with times like these my truck is almost a second faster. This is my first manual car, and it was my first time to the track. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Dang... That's horrible. The stock time on those is like 14.7, isn't it?
Where are you launching at? Where are you shifting at? What are your 60' times?

tommy, know this, with a trap speed of 93mph, you should be in the low15's to high 14's, so don't be too dissappointed. it takes a while to get used to the track and driving a manual. i would launch @ about 3000rpms and shift a hair before redline as fast as you can. watch the 1-2 shift, it can be tricky, and you want to make sure you nail it and not miss it. also, if you can drive around the water, and not burn out, it would probably be better, if not, then just burn the water off breifly. don't dump the clutch, feather it coming off the line and you should be fine. hope this helps.

That is the single most important piece i could give, you'd be amazed to how gradualy letting off the clutch does to your times as opposed to just dumping it. Nothing is racing is "Sudden" everything is gradual.
