View Full Version : Attempted Car Theft of MY MSP today...

so today I was walking out of a class at a local Four Points Sheraton towards my car (always park my car on the outskirts away from SUV mom and kids). Anyways, as I unlock my car I notice the alarm beep 3 times (which I think means someone was tugging on the door handles). So I go about my business, leave the car and go and sit outside the hotel out of the possible thief's quick survey of the scene. I am sitting for all about 2 minutes and I noticed a shitty car roll up and block the view to my car from the rest of the parking lot. As the two guys approach my car, I walk up behind them, rattle my keys, and ask them if I can help them break into my car. They stuttured "oh oh we were just looking at it) but of course in one hand they are carrying door lock jimmy's. They quickly left the scene.
To make a long story short, do any of you guys carry a bat, golf club, 2X4, metal pole, etc. in the truck to teach these fools a lessons. I was thinking about carrying a lesson stick but I don't want something to rattle around, not to mention, I am not the type of guy that would like to inflict pain, but a man/women has to protect their property, no?!

I have a three cell mag under my seat in a holster to keep it from rolling. It makes a very good weapon. (chair)

if you have no lesson stick, put your key ring in your palm and one key between each finger. :)

Gee, you should have hit the panic button on your remote. Would've been nice to see them jump before they even touched the car! :D

well ur a girl :)
anyway u shoulda let them stick the slim jim in ur car once they did it you can now legally use lethal force to defend your property since there are 2 of them and one of you. i woulda fucking glocked them over the head with a bat or something and call the cops and send their ass to jail. just make sure to piss (piss)
on them before the cops come and take a pic to use as a personal(owned) pic

Only weapons i carry are 2 18" guns... I'd love to catch someone in the act. They would be swimming with the fishes soon after.

I've carried a t-ball bat in my trunk for years. One of these years I'll get the concealed-carry license. Unfortunately, you never know when a handy weapon will be useful, so I say always have one just in case. You may even be able to stop another crime from happening. There is NO greater crime deterrent than a gun in your face.

My key chain is a weapon. So many heavy, sharp keys. :)

My best weopon is what I have in my head....intelligence, and 7+ years of Martial Arts. Catching someone in the act is a good feeling. Something similar happened to me earlier this year. Luckily I was asleep IN the car. The response of, "OH SHIT," when I rose up to see the thieves was pricesless, and how fast they sped off in thier...2k1 Civic....
Here is the re-cap:

I play paintball a lot so I usually have it in my car. A couple shots to the head without a mask would teach them....or kill them.

Paint Ball guns are the shit a couple neatly placed shots to the calfs would seriously slow them down.
Has anyone ever seen a cattle prod in action? They cause some serious hurt. I believe they deliever something like 50,000 volts. Now thats a shocker!

our cars are amazing easy to slim jim.
i locked my keys in my car after using the cigarette lighter.
it took my pal 5 minutes with his snap-on slim jim to open the passenger door. and he hasn't sued it in 9 years. scary stuff!

one word........AUTOLOCK
steph saw it in my car..........
my friend used his autolock once to break a shoulder-blade of a guy who was trying to steal his car...........very effective.
but i would never confront a carthief if i'm alone, especially if there are 2 of them. Most of them carry guns, and they will use them.........trust me.

Same here (except it's a 4-cell). A Mag Lite makes a very effective weapon.

got a point, keeping it in the car doesnt help when it gets broken into...but 5 years of ryukyu kempo do help..like linux, my first response would be a neck bar and broken ankles for whatever fool tries breaking into my whip..then they get the glock
Take your key, put it between your middle finger and ring finger, make a fist, punch them in their eye.
Odds are you wont connect with their eye but will connect with their cheek or neck area.
Once a few years back.... I had a friend who had some nice rims.... he came to pick me up at the airport.... we went out to his car and a guy and one of his friends had his car jacked up and were working on their second wheel... we confronted them and got ready to brawl.... my friend got his tire out of the trunk and one guy ran to his car..... guy using jack took the rod to raise the jack and raised up like he was gonna swing at me... dude said "best not say shit motherfucker" and walked towards me.... threw my Taco Bell cup at him and grabbed my keys.... shanked his ass on the side of his face... he dropped the pipe..... jumped in the car and took off..... we put the first tire back on...... and tightened up the one he was working on. Got a free tire jack out of it.... bad thing is they tried to pull the locks on his car and it had the ring on the paint scratched into it..... and i also lost my pepsi.

i think the best defense is to play it smart. take down the plate number and let the local pd take all the risk. my mother in law walked up beind a guy trying to rip her car off and he pulled a gun on her! she screamed and he ran off but it could have been bad news!!
