I understand each state has its own laws for tint percentage, however, I am interested to hear some opinions on this topic whether to tint or not to. If not, why? If so, if you can, please post some pictures, prices, quality, and time it took for a professional to do this.

Black tint over the spicy orange looks HELLA good. It sets the car off. Many people say it should have been a factory addition. Find some of the threads of people's cars and you'll see what I'm talkin' about.

Tinted windows look good when done right. I think 35% is a good shade...it's enough to be noticed, does a good job keeping out sunlight, and is easy enough to see through at night. Anything darker, and nighttime vision will suffer, anything lighter and it'd be hard to notice you have tint at all.
And NOTHING is worse than a DIY tint job...pay the money to have it done professionally, by a place that comes highly recommended.

i don't have any good pics of my car but it's tinted 35% all the way around. no regrets. here in ca it's illegal to tint the front windows, but mine isn't too bad. *knocks on wood* i paid $120 for the tint, lifetime warranty on peeling, bubbles, cracking, discoloring, etc. it didn't take that long to have it done, an hour max.

I don't care a what the laws are about tint. I'm tinting my MSP in a couple of weeks. I'm not going too dark on the fronts just because I don't want to get hassled but they will also be tinted.
I had a 2000 Silverado that had the fronts tinted and I got pulled over. Cop gave me a fix it ticket, basically I stripped the tint, took it and had the ticket written off after cops saw I removed the tint, I paid a $10 fine and I was on my way to get them re-tinted. :D I don't know what state your in but NO front tint is allowed at all here in California. They can care less about the back windows...they have those bright ass spot lights that would shine through limo tint.
If you see a cop just be all slick about it and roll down your windows...:D
I'm in Southern California and my friend just tinted his windows on his RSX..pic posted in my following reply.

tint also helps to protect your interior from fading due to sunlight...getting mine done real soon

i have the same dilemma! in michigan, i am only allowed four inches of tint on the fronts. that is crap.
has anyone done different %s in the front and back; i have a funny feeling that wouldn't look so cool. i have an abnormal hatred for cops, as i have several tickets and do NOT need any more. i might just go 35% and pray anytime i see one.
how is 35%, anyone? i DON'T want to get noticed (by police), but i want to enjoy the benefits of the tint. is $120 average?? that's not bad at all.

My friend that had his RSX done paid about $130 so I guess that's average.

Texas has the same law, as dark as you want in the front but only 4" down. I think that's ugly, since I don't like those half tinted window. I got my tint done as negoitated with the dealer when I bought the car, so I don't know how much it cost me to do it. I got 20% in the back and 5% on the side, I dont' like it too dark as you can see. But I like my tint, cuz you can sort of see inside but sort of not, make it mysterious.:)

Yo man, I have Platinum Premium PLus tint on my windows, no good pics, but it's refelctive at 35%, but you can still kinda see through, 20% is like looking in a mirror. it looks slick on my 'Tight"anium MSP, and would look ok on your Orange MSP, but regular black tint does look alot better, and is definatly worth getting, it looks slick as hell man,

I got 3M Scotchtint in 20% for the whole car & tint strip for $192. The guy that did mine is amazing...if anyone near Central FL needs tint, check out Precision Window Tinting (www.precisionproductionsinc.com) (407-699-2425)!
It makes Titanium look 5x better! I'll have pics up tomorrow. :D

I would highly recommend MSP owners tint the windows. Every car/truck I have owned has had tint. It makes the car look a lot better in person and it also keeps the interior cool from the hot sun. This is espeically true in FL. The tint will also help keep the interior from fading out or cracking.
I have 15% tint all the way around. The front windsheild is stock. I really do not like the way the front strip looks, but that is my opinion. (spin)

I have a Black Mica MSP. I tinted the back window and the rear passenger windows "Limo"(as dark as I could get...). The front drivers side and front passengers side are 35%. I also have a "Limo" front eyebrow for the front. It really makes the car look very "stealthy". I have no problems seeing out the windows at night. Good luck.

I agree with a lot of the other guys. Don't do it yourself and check the state laws on it in case the law around you are pricks.
If you haven't checked, October 2003's issue of Sport Compact Car has the laws pertaining to many things we want to do to our vehicles from window tint to ride height modification. It also lets you know if it's illegal to have the front license plate off and what kind of cover you can "legally" get away with.
If you want, PM me your state and I'll forward this to you.

Mine is 5% in the rear, and I think 35% up front. Don't remember for sure..I just had him do it the same as he did my Civic a while back, so he just pulled the info from his records. Maybe only 50% in front?

I've got orange tint. Here's some pics. With the first two there is too much back lighting so it looks kind of yellow. The third gives you an acurate representation of the tint color and darkness, but please excuse the $8,000 worth of body damage. Car should be good as new in 3 weeks.
Got the tint done here in Dallas from a friend of Pirana's for $135.

Was heading home home from a meet and decided to take a solo cruise on a short but pretty twisty road by my house. Hit some gravel or water or something while in mid turn, overcorrected, pulled a few 360s and plowed the driver's side of my car through two 8 in thick wooden beams lining the road to keep dumbasses like me from going into the lake. Most of the damage was to my driver's door area and rocker panel underneath. Here's a better pic of the damage.

That was back on 8/16, supposed to pick her up the 2nd week in Oct. Hope this helps explain my avatar and new outlook on aggresive driving and street racing.
PS: sorry for the thread jack, but these were the best tint shots I had available at work.

5% is too dark IMO. Can you see anything at night? Can you see anything when you are backing out at night??

Actually, I have 20% on the back window and I have no problem backing up at night. Only my side windows are 5%. Sorry for the missunderstanding.

Is there a big difference in 30% and 35%? A lot of people in VA have 35% all around and have no problems with cops. I was wondering if 30% is too big of a difference to notice or what not. Thinking about tinting as well........it def look tight on a black MSP.
