Is it only my car or does yours move a lot as well? I'm afraid that something will snap or brake soon. I'm thinking of ordering a front mount from AWR, but I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. If I get them replaced under warrenty will they be as weak as these ones?
Thanks.

They aren't weak...just massively soft. If they feel too soft, then take it to the dealer...yours may be particularly bad!
Goodluck!

I hate to say it but the motor mounts in the MSP are really soft and the AWR are too stiff. The motor will move between 2-3 inches in either direction under heavy load or between shifts beleive it or not!
You either keep the stockers and deal with it or buy the AWR and deal with them?
That is your only two options until someone makes us poly motor mount inserts!
Matt;)

I'll just prolly replace the front mount with an AWR one. Shouldn't add too much vibration. But I don't know if just replacing the front one would change that much. Any body that has replace just the front share your thoughts please. I remember reading on this forum that there're motor mount inserts out for the regular protege and should fit on the MSP.

Are you determining the motor moving between shifts from a noise?

No noises, just that I can feel the shock very much through the shifter and the seat, plus the whole car jerks. That was one of the things I hated about the Maxima I just traded in for the MSP.

CustomMSP, if you search for AWR mounts you'll probably get a better idea of what just replacing the front will do for you. People that have it done may not come into this thread, but they may have posted about it earlier.
I hope I don't sound like a dick, saying use the search...I just think you'll get better info there. Good luck!

Replacing just the front motor mount will make a difference. Changing the rear is a royal PITA and at first it vibrates like crazy. If you do just the front I am sure you'll be pretty happy with the results. Just make sure you use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts down to about 70lb/ft and the vibration from just the front won't be too bad.

jrodhotrod,
Thanks for the number. I'm actually researching the motor mount inserts as oppose to the actual mount. The inserts seem like a better choice. We'll see.
let me know when u get some info
