Here are some pics which show $15k worth of damage done to my MP3. Needless to say AAA considers it a total loss and I am now screwed. As for selling parts off of the car, I don't think I will be able to because it would change the settlement amount that AAA is going to pay to Mazda. The more AAA pays, the less I owe.

Ok, not really. That R32 is my buddies, I posted about it a while back in the Off-Topic Forum (http://www.protegemp3.com/vbb230/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24695&highlight=Skyline), but never got ahold of him to take pictures. Well, he'll be joining us Bay Area guys for some trips upto Highway 9.

Can you find out how much to repurchase the vehicle from them? I am looking to build an MP3 race car and don't really want to cut up a nice stock original. I was just going to post about reconstrucetd or wrecked MP3s. I am in Oregon, so transportation wouldn't really be a problem.

oh god i saw it today durring my lunch and i'd say its a miracle he didnt get really badly injured. that rear door is smashed in JUST beind the drivers seat, LIKE AN INCH!!

Anyway, I agree that you should see what you can do to buy it from the insurance company. Once they pay off you and Mazda, they just sell it to try and make their money back. Find out when and where they sell it and buy it back.

Sorry for the lack of response time. I talked to AAA the other day and they are only going to pay $11,500 for the car. I'm not sure what they're going to do with what left of the vehicle. I was thinking of buying it back and parting it out, but I don't have the time nor do I have the connections to buy it back, have it towed, store it somewhere while it get it get's parted out. I also don't know anyone with a shop that could take everything apart for me. I would really like to sell some pieces off of it, but it would take too much time and I am under a lot of stress now because of this accident that was not my fault. The only things that I was able to salvage from the vehicle was the stock MP3 Kenwood sub which I am going to sell and the stock Kenwood 6x9 eXcelon rear deck speakers. I have no clue when I want to sell these and still have no idea what kind of car I am going to buy next.

I can tell you guy this much though. If AAA does not pay off the entire balance which seems like that is what's going to happen. I'm going after the driver who hit me for the remaining amount. I don't want to make a profit off of this. I just want to be made whole again. Like as if nothing ever happened. The 2003 Black Mica MSP that I found is located in Burlingame, CA at Vericom Mitsubishi. It's slightly used with 10k miles on it, but that doesn't bother me at all because it is still under warranty. So, if anything were to go wrong with it, I could take it to a Mazda Stealership and have it serviced under warranty. I got to look at the car the other day and there are no swirls, spiderwebs or scratches on the paint at all. The tire aren't warn at all either. I really wish I could go for it. But, the debt is overwhelming right now and needs to be paid off. Besides, if I pay off all of my debt and drive a beater for a year. I can buy a faster Turbo'd Sedan (EVO or STi) down the road.

what about your insurance is it going to go up? my license was susp a day bfore my accident and it was under my parents name, now there insurance has tripled at least and i prolly can never drive again

Since the guy hit me and totalled my car, my insurance rate won't be affected. That came straight from a AAA insurance agent. If I had been the cause of the accident then it would be an entirely different story. If I had been injured I would prbably be making a profit off of the accident. But, luckly I didn't get hurt.
