I was wondering if someone could enlighten me. Why does the idle increase when i move my steering wheel either right or left? The car also rattles a little bit. I have a MT. I thought this was really weird but my cousins 2003 Elantra does the same thing. Can someone explain this to me?

power steering pump operating so that you can move the steering wheel back and forth with ease :)

i've read that you shouldn't really turn the wheel unless you are moving. it puts great amounts of stress on the steering components.

but thats just what ive read.
