I have seen people listing this a mod but why would removing a piece of rubber be considered a mod? what does it do, if anything ?

Well for me it brought the underhood temps way down.
I could go for a short drive get on it a bit then come back pull over lift the hood and then brand the damn prop bar into my hand.
After the removal of the strip I can actually grab the prop bar without the fear of melted flesh.
Seriously it pulled a lot of hot air out from under the hood.
I have had zero negative affects from this "mod." Driven in the rain etc. no probs.

Since i removed my weather stripping my hood seems to rattle a little more, i think it is also because the awr mounts. My under hood temps seemed to go down a lilttle, and when it is cold my windshield fogs up more then usual.
