I have a joep mbc and was booting about 14psi daily for a month, I took of the mbc to clean up the install and turn the boost down to compensate for the cooler weather coming, But now I cant get it to boost past 8psi, No matter how far i screw the knob out:wtf:

I would check the connections again, you may either have a leak somwhere or a crimp in one of the hoses that you used. I know when I first installed mine it wouldn't go any higher or lower than 16psi and no matter how much i let it out or turned it in. Turns out I had a crimp in some of the hoses. I would say check the install again and just make sure all is correct.

I have this same problem..mine won't go past stock boost levels (6-7psi at load). I thought maybe the dealer had done something to the wastegate last time I took it in for a CEL, but all the vacum lines look ok and the boost holds steady so I don't think there's a leak...I dunno. I'm gonna take out the mbc and check it...but I don't really know how to tell if the mbc is defective...

Don't you screw the knob in to raise boost?

Sure. It's probably not that efficient at that level though. JoeP boosted to at least 18PSI - maybe more.

yes it sucks! i've changed all the vacuum hoses and it still does the same thing for. i took out my cai and i still hit the cut since it peaks past 10 psi and holds from there but it sucks. i drive @ night a lot and the cut makes me so mad but the boost is nice. i guess i have some pretty dense ass air since some ppl don't even hit cut @ 14 psi. they can go to HELL!!! j/p :)
i'm either
a. joe p fcd
b. perfworks (if he is still involved) upgraded maf
c. full engine management and screw all the bull shit and burn the maf in the garbage.
those also go in order of cost effectiveness and power gains :)
it's late so i'm outtie.
peace.

Did you check the wastegate, make sure everything was ok down there?

From what I've been reading, isn't it not recommended to boost beyond 9-10?
