Are you asking if the Mazda 6i 4cyl transmission will work with a 3rd gen protege or the other way around? I got confused on the second line.

well if you get it to work then i think that would be pretty sweet!
honestly if a skyline engine can fit in a nissan 240, or nissan 200 then surely the 2.3L should be able to fit. if it was up to me i would check the trannies on both of them and see if they are the exact same model.

but what do i know, im just a pc gamer!

It all depends on the layout/motor mounts. I'd be more interested in the tranny than anything else.

my question is why? take the money envested for the 2.3 and put into a turbo, plus the 6 motor is american, damn ford

The 2.3 is made by mazda for Ford, not Ford. On the other hand the 3.0's block is ford and most of the rest of the items on it are american. If the 2.3 will fit into the protege, it could be a good way for more power. There will (eventually) be a great deal of 2.3's around and could be fairly cheap to come by.

Your talking apples and oranges...

Secondly, show me a 200 with a Skyline engine. If you can, I'll wear speedos to the next Mazda meet and take pictures for everyone.:D I'll also so all the Mazda ladies my Magic Stick!!

Unless your talking about the VERY first OLD school 200, that'll never happen.

yep! so far, j00 are right!
i wouldnt doubt that a skyline engine would fit in there, but it would be too heavy. but going back and doing my research (yay for internet) the silvia engine can go into the 200sx. but anyway-i just hope that silverbullet will be able to use the engine. remember that if all goes wrong, just put duct tape on it!

That is more possible than the 200sx...lol At least the 180 is RWD.

use chassis codes for christs sakes! car names alone are vague and provide almost no information as to which years you're talking about

I HOPE you are talking about the S12 and NOT the B14

even then, it's a snug fit.
