I was driving home, yes i am the guy who has a kill list on the side of his car, and i came across a lexus? A pretty sporty looking car. I have never seen one of these in columbus before so bare with me. I think it was a i300 or something like that. Well i raced it and beat it? Was he messing with me or did i beat him? To make it more descriptive....it was a sedan about our size, had exhaust, 17 inch rims, and yellow fogs...ewwwww!

It's all in the driver, but they are pretty close powerwise.

Well, let's see, Lexus IS300's have 215hp from an inline 6. and weigh 3255Lbs, which is 500lbs more than us, so if he's stock, and you're modded, it's possible.

They are about the same speed wise. I have both a msp and a silver IS300 and its a very nice car. The Lexus will take the msp in top speed though.

I raced an is300 in my 03 accord v6 auto and won and my msp could beat the accord, although its close but yeah the msp can beat the is300.

IS300 until recently were all automatic/semiautomatic, so they're slower than the current 5 spd now they sell, something else to ponder about

shudders at the thought of one day owning a IS300 standard tranny.
another curiousity, does anyone remember the article about 2 years ago with HKS's FULL carbon fiber Altezza? (for those of you closet freaks, an Altezza is the jap version of the IS300)

Best car Toyota makes for the US, in my opinion. Of course...it is the source of those damn Altezzas!!!! For that alone toyota shall fail!

i think the IS300/Altezza is nice but the ones we have here in the US suck when it comes to power since they r also somewhat heavy.

Do I sense some negativity? maybe you should find a healthy outlet for your frustration. My suggestion. Drive around town and break every single Altezza taillight you find! You would be doing the world a favor, and venting your pent up aggression in a positive way.
j/k for all you altezza lovers out there.

MMMMM.........Altezza... 2JZ-GE. Can you say 4 dr Supra?
This car is equipped with a stock block capable of 900 hp!
Only thing is it has VVTi (crap).

IS300's are a dime a dozen around here, and its usually a total asswipe wanna-be too cool for school homo...

yeah the block is capable but it is not like the turboed supra engine with forged internals straight from the factory that would handle 700 hp. But the tranny is strong, I remember reading on is300 boards about someone with 614 whp on the stock tranny which was still going strong.

I have driven both the IS300 Auto and the IS300 Standard.
A very nice car, good build, solid and it purrs. Man does it purr.
As for acceleration, we would take it if it was an auto, but from a roll it would own us (esp. w/ the hessitation)
The standard (stock for stock) would be a GREAT race.
