View Full Version : Another question
Is there anywhere where I can find superdetailed info on the car? Like dimensions that you wont find on a normal spec sheet (piston to valve clearance, piston type and material, turbo specs like A/R ratio and Compressor wheel size, how its cooled if it is, etc.)

The only "hidden" information that I know of is the spring rate for the stock suspension:
Front: 2.59kg/mm (145 lbs/in)
Rear: 2.10kg/mm (117.5 lbs/in)

This is from the regular Protege shop manual, but the engine internals are the same, so there shouldn't be any major differences.

I am still trying to find the frigen compressor maps and turbo specs.

hmm wonder if this info is purposely being kept from us, hhahha iunno.
I mean no one has it.
We have 50% of the "turbo experts" saying its efficiency falls off even at 10 PSI and others that say its good for 15?
So I want the damn compressor map and I'll do the math myself.

yeah i agree, i hear many diff. stories on how well the turbo does or can do. i as well would like to have a definate answer. i do know that Turbo Magazine will be doing a Project Mazdaspeed in the coming months so maybe they can help us find out. cause they said at first their main goal is gonna be to take the turbo all the way to the end of its efficiency or whatever. so hopefully we'll all find out what the car can do.
