OUCH! Sorry about that Lisa.....
Honestly doesn't look to bad. Shouldn't take much to get it repaired.

Yeah, I've got two smaller dents in my pillar at around the same area. I've stopped by three body shops and none of them wanted to even touch it since the pillar is one of the strongest parts of the car. I ended up filing a insurance claim, which I can't afford to do, and with the dents on the pillar:

A banged up hood:

And a scraped up front bumper:

Progressive only gave me around ($390+$500 deductible) $890 dollars. I can tell I'm going to have to go through loops for this claim because there's no way all of that can be fixed for that amount.
Anyway, sorry to threadjack. I wish you the best with your pillar, let me know how it goes.

talking to Geico.. they may do it for like a $250 deductable... everyone say a prayer and cross your fingers that that is all it costs me..

Aww that sucks Lisa! :( I'm not surprised with these monster storms we've been having here lately. Knock on wood mines been ok but it's still sporting matching dents on the rear doors. What burns is I think the one on the drivers side was from a Matrix, grrrrrrrrr.....
Good luck with your ins. company! You too t3ase!

Also, I think the pic in your sig is one of the most flattering pictures I've seen of a P5. The lighting and the angle are very cool...

Man, That sucks
Damn, did a branch fall on it or what
because that must be done with force, not just a normal branch!
I am sorry for you
hope it goes all well
Insurance should cover that with
all that money we give them
p.s. Why should the tint wait
just because the money or something with the pillar
because I don't think this affect the pillar
Keep us posted and again, best of luck:D

Wow, sorry to hear that. The weather around here has been brutal, 60mph winds, hail. I drove right through the one storm and was dodging tree branches in the road the whole time. Some spots the rain was so bad I couldn't even see the hood. At least I was home before 495 was closed down!

That sucks Lisa, but least you got kewl insurance.
Though those pillars are normally spot welded on and not just snaped in. Which can be expensive to remove. But maybe they can pop it back out, and repaint.

If I were in your shoes I would go piss on the tree (that has to be the ultimate insult to a tree) but judging by your user name you are a woman, and that would just not be right!!
iLisa
09-02-2003, 09:28 AM
cruzin-
yep.. all woman here. It is hard (if not impossible) to pee on a tree standing up. I was thinking about calling the management office and having 'em chop it down.. hee hee.. *evil grin*

Lisa, there are so many body shops in the area it's ridiculous. There are at least 3 directly surrounding my apartment!
iLisa
09-02-2003, 11:48 AM
yes.. there are a lot of shops in this area. But, I'm looking for one that does good work. I was hoping that maybe someone could recommend one because of experience with getting work done at one.
btw- where is your apt...

justcharlie..
Gonna take the ol' boy to Geico later today in Bailey's Crossroads for an estimate on what they will cover to fix it. But I should be back in the early evening..
iLisa
09-03-2003, 06:41 PM
Just got back from Geico and the guy said that total cost $441-$250(my ded)=$191.. and he gave me a check for that $191. He said the roof racks might have to come off and the windshield may have to come out.. :( I told him about the forum and what my great group of car buff friends said about taking the roof rack off..(i.e. headliner out, etc etc.) He was very impressed with our cars and really talked up the 6.. now the next stop will be the body shop.
