At first didn't like, but now it is growing on me.
Get rid of the black door handles, and clear the side marker would make it better. :)

I like everything but the lip spoiler on top of the back windshield. The rest looks pretty cool to me. Is that hood scoop functional? if so that's bad ass and time for a ram air intake, if not, it still looks cool, just don't pop your hood

Hood scoop?

and I agree with remillers. Shaved handles would look SWEET, body colored ones would look nice too and help improve the over all look of the car.
nice work though

It doesn't look bad. Not really my style . though , mainly due to me being picky and I would only want my car looking somewhat close to Andy's ...
But that is good that you got those side skirts. but needless to say you still have some parts to get ..
Above are pics of Andy's car ... I have some better ones but they are at home .. and one is on Protegeclubs server :D

bruce..actually the hood scoop is andy's. the rest of the kit came from the original mazdaspeed car...a friend sold the car but took the kits off and sold it seperate...Andy's car looks way different that the old ones...he's is now a show car for protegetech philippines...imagine a B6 turbo..wow....even the gas tank is painted and with nice choice of paint...Im still considering getting the 97 jspec bumpers but since this is a daily driver i rather prioritize on my kids safety..the handles and other black trim will be painted eventually...and since andys car is now different theres this car in their group that will make ur jaw drop...its owned by OHMME...black 97 glxi i think with all mazdaspeed stuffs..even the side door trim has stitching of MS...better check their site up..later...thanks

tx speed demon....the hood scop is not functional but im trying to see if i can find a way to use it...it came off from a diesel version of familia in japan with intercoolers on top...since i have that some acuras and hondas dont rev their engines as much anymore when they sit next to my car..lol... the rear visor was the first one i got when i went to the Philippines back in 2000...i believe theres only few that has that here in the US...and thats functional....it really blocks the sun from the back passenger...im trying to get as much parts from the Philippines back here for reason that its original and it may not look good to some but i bet no one can even get one...lol...just kidin..at least my airfare ir worth it...i guess ill see you on the next get together. then...i got more that what u saw there....maybe i can even sell some parts..ever seen a radiator cap that has a relief button and j spec..lol..or a mazda speed center cap for aftermarket streering wheel...lol...ill let you see it..later...thanks

yeah I have the pics of Andy's car. He sent me a whole slew of them .. I have to put them up on my site, but I am working on some redesigns first.
As for your car, I think it looks nice, but you need a jspec front bumper with a lip . You might as well go with the 95-96 and fill the indicator holes and get the spoiler to go with it. Then those things on your windshield wipers .. I would let them go (my opinion) .. A drop is really in need , no excuses there. even in the roughest road the protege will ride decent with a 2 inch drop.
Once you get that done I think it will be sick . As for the door handles and mirrors. that's a whenever thing, I never did mine lol. and really don't care to .. I will let me turbo talk for that when I get it in ...
This is how I am , I am pretty critical and VERY picky.. I need a set of rims for my car and have the hardest time picking out a set because I constantly find something wrong.
I just try to be as honest as I can about my opinions.

That looks pretty good! Im in DESPERATE need of a hook-up for the 95/6 side skirts (I agree, more flavour than the 97/8 sides).
If you can in ANY way hook me up, let me know! I need them to complete my JDM look...
Also, check out my car at www.sounddomain.com/id/kdawgone
Heres a pic of my car at the Darknight Nationals. This is the 95/6 JDM bumper with the turn signals and the liscence plate indent filled. My car has since been hit and the bumper has now been replaced with the 97/8 JDM bumper.

bruce, yup! the hoodscoop is from my previous hood that I salvaged from the wreck, sold to another member here who in turn sold it to txmzdspd2gen. how's the install coming around?
kdawg, i love what you've done to your ride.... especially those 3 holding on to it. I've seen your interior before and it's so cool... can't wait to see what you're gonna do with your seats to complete the look. no promises... but, i'll see what i can do about those skirts... they're around US$200 here for the 2 sides.

hmm a tuned by mazdaspeed emblem , that doesn't sound bad. Any idea how much it will run me .
Well think of it like this. You could get the 95-96 bumper but I know that kris was saying that you would have to do some shaving to get it to go straight on. I also know that you will also have to fill the holes in the front. This is not hard to do, if you wanted to you could have a body man do it .
If you get the 97 bumper you benifit from a direct fit , but you will need a spoiler . You can get one custom made which to be honest is a good idea . I know that Patrick made one for his 97 and it turned out figin sweet. I think that would look nice for your car. Even a custom spoiler for your stock bumper would be sweet. Did you think to look into that? that may also work and save you some money.

wow , I never knew you had an accident , that explains the white hood I guess. I have been working on the swap but right now I am stranded waiting for ups to deliver the final peaces. I am hoping to have the car on the road by Saturday so I can take it to kent CT meet.
Sometimes I do wonder if I should have purchased a CL or a MAxima or something and just put rims on it and call it a day , but I don't know...
I don't really know how long I will be into this modding stuff to be honest.
Time will tell ...
anyway good work with the familia Andy, you of all people know that I have admired your car from day 1 .. lol I think you still remeber when you messaged me the photo's and I nearly lost my mind .. hahaha ..
ahh those were the days.

The white hood is where Ronald's hoodscoop was originally mounted on and I had repainted my original blue color before I got sandwiched last year and ended up re-making the entire car.

Thanks... it actually works both ways :) I'm currently getting the car face lifted... You may not recognize it afterwards and the only giveaway would be the color... It'll be done by the end of the month
