Wrecked MSP

name says it this afternoon i had my first wreck someone cut off this chick in a 2002 mustang that was in front of me so she totally locked up her brakes so i hit mine and the car stalled which left me with no abs or power brakes i hit her then a dude in a altima hit me from behind so the MSP got smashed from both ends:D

I feel your pain man. I banged up my entire driver's side Monday night. She's going to be in the shop for 5 weeks. Hang in there. I've found 2 more NEW orange ones here in Dallas last week. If your car gets totalled out and you want to buy a new one send me a PM and I'll stop by the dealer (same place that is doing my body work) and make sure they're still there.

thread jacking my own thread since we are voting what do you all think? the STI/EVO is in my range but had a mitsu before and dont want to do it again maybe just get a normal WRX? and my beater is a 2.2 Impreza with 119k on it and it still runs like a champ <3 scooby reason being the sti wont be avil for a few weeks in my area and awaiting the next few to come in

if it Totals you cannot take anything off of it! The insurance pays the car off and takes the car and auctions it off. Or you can tell them you want to buy it back, which means you have to come up with whatever the car is worth wrecked! and that will be easily over $12000.

But it won't total, I fixed a P5 with almost the same front end damage. And it was a $5000 fix. The rear of the msp won't be that much.

The damage has to be atleast 70% of the value of the car to total!

They'll prob get him for following to closely. Even though the chick slammed on her brakes, he should have had time to react. now if the guy hit him from the rear and pushed him into the chick, that would be a different story...
If any of you remember the pics of my MSP when I wrecked it, it didn't look horribly bad, but it came out to $8,500 in damage. The body shop had it for 2 months. They never even considered totaling it due to the fact that it was part of a limited run.

The way it is here, if you get rear ended, then it is automatically not your fault, because can you honestly say how much damage is caused by the initial impact, and how much by the lady who rear-ended you and pushed you even more into the car in front of you?

I mean, you could barely tap the front car (new bumper, let's say) then you get slammed into final destination 2 style which could destroy half your engine bay!

I was in a same predicament helping my friend move into college. It was a three car accident and I was in the middle. Carolla (front), S-10 (middle), and Jeep Limited (back). Carolla and my S-10 were considered totalled by my friend's insurance. I got full value for my s-10 hence I waited and got the MSP when it came out. But it was all my friend's fault, they put a ton of points on his license and he had to pay a fine for following too close (even though he wasn't, it was raining like a mo fo). All in all, it turned out alright, his dad is an EXEC at Geico so he didn't have to worry. LOL.

GO FOR THE EVO8 or RX8. Can't go wrong with the 8s.

The 89-95 SHO is equipped with a 220HP 24 valve DOHC V-6 manufactured for Ford by Yamaha, a handling suspension similar to that in the police package Taurus, better seats, and unique exterior trim.
The SHO V8 was made only for 4 years from 1996 to 1999. This was the motor that replaced the 89-95 Ford Taurus SHO V6. The V6 had a displacement of 3.0 or 3.2 litres, depending on if you had a manual or automatic transmission.
This engine had 10 more HP than the V6, but the new Taurus was heavier i.e. it fucking sucked.

??? They are wholesaleing for that range in mint condition. The value dropped fast on these cars. That is yet another reason I bailed on mine when I did :).. Hell, the best I could muster up was $13K on a trade in and that was the highest offer of any dealership!!!

Yeah that doesn't look bad at all. The damage i put on my MSP monday night looks much worse.

Who determains what the "full value" of the car is anyway? I'm worried that if my car is totalled out the money from State Farm won't equal what I owe. I've got gap insurance so won't go bankrupt, but will be left with no cash or trade in for my next car.
