You can have that repaired easily. Any garage should be able to do it for about $5.
They have a hooked metal tool and they take a piece of rubber shaped like a piece of pasta and stuff it in the hole. I have had tires fixed that way hold up for years (longer than the tread).

You thought wrong. My brother had it done -- 0 problem.
don't plug it, patch it. this means they have to take the tire off and patch it from the inside.
I've had 3 tires done now between the mp3 and speed. And **knocks on wood** No problem so far.
Only place I would be really concerned with patching would be the sidewall. Not supposed to do that, had it done on the mp3 though and she was fine.
I don't recommend patching sidewalls though. Big risk.

You can, but the speed rating will no longer be warranted by the manufacturer. Also, if the hole is not in the tread (withing the steel belted portion), the tire dealer may not want to repair it for safety reasons, as mentioned by others. I had a hole in one off my SP5000 tires on the P5, on the edge of where they would fix it. I had a plug put in, and it didn't last. I got it patched at another place, and haven't had any problems since.

BINGO!
This statement is 100% correct!
I used to install and repair tires back in the day and as I was reading this post I had hoped someone didn't say it already but they did!
OH WELL?
At least the info was correct and accurate!
Matt;)
