View Full Version : Gauge Pods.... Do we want Three or Two Gauges
TightMP3

We are needing to know how many people want a 2 gauge or a 3 Gauge Pillar, I know for sure that it will match the factory color in the MP3 and the P5, I have not tried the standard Protege, But I am almost positive that it will. When you reply just choose the option you would want.
Option 1 - Three Gauge Pillar that will fit on the Left side, $49.99
Option 2 - Two Gauge Pillar that are up higher so you can put a Huge Tach with the Shift light in the Left corner. Now take in consideration, this option has not been made or tried, but i believe that it can be done.
$44.99
Mitch from Protege5online and I are working on this together now. I will try and get this camera to work. It has not been working. Just start replying with option 1 or 2

Also, what I planned on doing with the pods is selling the pods with the guages. So, I want to get an idea of what kind of guages people are interested in. Boost, Voltometer, Temp, oil, etc. Also, I've always sold Autometer phantom guages. Any suggestions on other guages people may want? By selling them this way (say you get the 3 guage pod with your choice of 3 guages) you'll be able to get a package deal.

These are NOT the final product. This is with only two gauges but the ones that are going to be made as three will have another at the top. Also keep in mind when we make the order of these they will use this one to make the mode. The mode will actually be the same color as the factory pillar, also it will bolt on to the factory one also.

[QUOTE]The mode will actually be the same color as the factory pillar, also it will bolt on to the factory one also. [QUOTE]
So they will bolt on to the stock pillar? Not replace it? I was hoping that they would replace the stock pillar rather than bolt on to it. I hate to make holes in it. I am not really going to keep the car till i die :)
And does anybody know, how hard is it to remove the pillar?
TightMP3

On 95% of the gauge pods that are made for the pillar are bolt on gauge pods. Meaning that you have your factory pillar....then you have this gauge pod that is formed to fit over the factory pillar and you have two screws to put in it to hold it. On the screw heads you might be worried that they will be shown, but!! there is this buttons that go over the screw heads that are also the same color as the factory pillar.
Example of the button (http://www.gaugepods.com/3geclipseclose.jpg)
Example of gauge pod that is formed to fit a Pillar (http://www.gaugepods.com/universal.jpg)
Now for the gauges...2 1/16" is the size of the hole....now as far what you can put in there it is what ever you want to monitor. Come on guys think about it...do you want to know what the water temp. is? get that gauge...do you want to watch the air fuel mixture? get that gauge. Same goes for a boost gauge or a volt gauge.
Oil Pressure
Nitrous Pressure 0-1600 PSI
Pyrometer 0-1600°F
Trans Temperature 100°-250°F
Air Fuel Ratio (Lean-Rich)
Water Temperature 140°-280°F
These are just some different ones you can get, and if you want to find them...goto a search engine or better yet just tell Mutch at Protege5online what you want...he can get it. You dont have to get what everyone else wants.
Example of a MX-6 (http://www.gaugepods.com/mx6.htm)
Also look at my pix below my signature and goto the folder Pillar...

Alright, we're looking decent. I believe I've gotten about 8 e-mails for 3 guage pods & 4 for 2 guage pods. So, we arent quite there but we are at least getting almost half way there. If I get the 20 orders for the 3 guage pods before I get enough orders for 2 guage pods, I'll contact all you 2 guage pod people & see if you want to switch. As soon as I get the 20 3 guage pod orders then I'll be able to get them started. So, those of you that havent e-mailed me, do so quickly so we can get this finished!!

Alright, right now, Im going to worry about getting the guage pods done so the price for the 3 guage pod will be 59.00 total in the US. 2 Guage pods will be 55.00. Payment is preferred through paypal with account sqrbean@midsouth.rr.com but MO will work. If I can get these payment ASAP so I can see where we stand on orders & how many we need, I'll try to get an idea of when they will be done. So, please get payment to me as soon as you can. Again, paypal account is sqrbean@midsouth.rr.com & MO address is:

I was probably the second or third person to send my money in... Feb 4, 2002. I would buy two to get the orders going, but I wouldn't know what to do with the second one.
Please keep me informed on what is happening with this project.

Alright. Just talked to LoTek about the pillar pods & they sound like they will be full replacements. I was thinking they where when I first picked up this deal but I wasnt 100% sure. Second, we are looking at 3 months or less before you get these. They said that the mold takes a while to get completed & they have about 10 applications to produce now. Thats 1 problem with having things produced specifically for us. It takes time. So, I need to know that if I do this, I will have all of you with me. I have to order 30 of these & I've only had payments for 6. As it stands, the project is going to be scraped & I will be sending the 6 their money back (which will cost me). Unless I get replies from the other 50 people that told me they want these (well, not all 50 but like 15 of you) this wont ever happen. Come on guys, there are a ton of you out there that said you wanted this but arent following through. You asked for it, I did alot of work to try & get it happen, and now you dont get back to me. If this keeps happening (which it did with the Carbon Fiber hoods as well) Im not going to be able to get anything else produced for us. It costs me money to get this stuff done & when I have to commit to getting a certain number made, I have to pay for that number. And if I have that many people show interest in an item, I feel its something I should get done. But when 90% of you decide you dont want it, then Im out a ton of money!! So, if you want it, e-mail me in the next week. Else, the project is dropped & we wont get this made. And it will really make me thing twice about the next time someone wants me to get something made.

Do you wanna know why you lost so much attention on this whole pod thing.....Those pods look crappy! I'm gonna make my own using the pods for the civic and just mod them a bit. The Pods in the pic just don't quite match with the color of the dash...Its more dark gray and those pods look black....Good luck with the order anyway.....

I think the pods in the picture were only the mold-shaper pods, and not the accual (I hope)!

Yeah, the mods in the picture where mock up blanks. They just stuck to the pillar to test the fit. There wasnt even a hole in them to put gauges! This is going to look quite a bit better than one you fabricate yourself as this one will be made just like your stock a pillar. It will look exactly like it was made into your car.
