Ok so we go to see Bad boys 2....and I drop my friend off at 12:50 and he says to me dont worry I rolled up my window. So I am like alright cya guys later. Well its 2:30 the next day and that asshole left my fucking window down. And guess what it rained all night and day today. I am so pissed at that kid. I went in my car and started drying everything off. Luckily the window was like 3/4 of the way up and not everything got soaked. I sat in he seat for a few seconds and my shorts were wet. I am hoping this is not going to cause any long term damage???

I recently left all my windows plus sunroof open on a sunny day only to hear thunder 1hr later and see hurricane strength rain fall.
The car was completely soak to the point I had a small lake on my chrome floor mats.
Spent the next 6 hrs drying it with a shop vac and many hair dryers.
To date there is no smell or noticeable damage.

Umm.... Not to sound like an ass, but next time *check* to make sure your windows are rolled up when you leave the car.

no offense but i'm still with Hachi on this one...unless when he went back to your car to get something he rolled the window down then, it still falls to you...you should always check everything before leaving your car, that's why i check everything after i shut off the engine...that's why it's your car...oh well...live and learn, live and learn

He went back to the car after I got out, I didnt even want to give this kid a ride back in the first place. Hes very annoying to begin with. He talks about cars all day but has no idea what he is saying. His altima is gonna be the ultimate rice machine. Hell prolly put about $1,000 dollars worth of neons into his car, hes a weird kid.

If he rolled his window down because he was hot, you should have rolled it back up when you got there. I have a hard time blaming this kid for the damage, as you should have made sure the windows were up.
I've forgotten to roll my windows up and the sprinklers at my house went off a few times. Minor damage, but no one to blame but myself ... for not making sure all windows were up.

Shoot its both ther fault.
1. yes he should double check for your friends stupidity, but I would think you trust your friends more.
2.His friend should had made sure since he TOLD him to roll it up, you would think your friends would least make double sure to do what you said about their car.
Gah
Now instead of rolling blame around for the next 20 post, why don't you people post ideas on helping him clean it??

What happened really sucks but that's yer fault man. This is your investment, don't let anyone else who didn't put their own hard-earned money into it be responsible for your car in any way.

I take full resposibility for what happened. I am not blaming him...I am just pissed off at him for doing what he did and especially since he told me that his window was up. My seat is already drying up but I am just worried about if it is going to smell or not.

I always press all 4 of my window buttons up before leaving the car, I left my civic windows open one to many time :P

I have no smells coming from mine at all.
What all did you do to dry it?
Might want to use a vacumm and try sucking up any still water in there then attacking it with a hair dyer. Thats all I did to the seats and side panels and no damage was left.

....heat gun on low / hair dryer... maybe get a big box fan, open the doors and let the fan blow thru the car?
on a side note, ive had no back quarter window for 2 weeks now and water seeps thru the plastic that i put up anyways due to condensation, so quit yer bitchin, its just water. dry it up and move on.

Try getting a really high power shop vac and run it over the seat a few times to get all the moisture out.

You should be fine so long as it dries evenly and doesn't mold. Definitely do what you can to speed up the drying using the methods mentioned so far.
And hey, there's always the almighty fbreeze if there is a minor odor left behind! :)
