We had a bottle of sunblock explode in the car today and it got on the large silver peice that surounds the cupholders and the shifter housing. The sunscreen ate throught the silver finish.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this?

Does anyone make an aftermarket dash kit that includes this peice?

Has anyone replaced this part and have there original one laying around, and willing to sell it?

By the way I have an 02.5 P5 with ATX, and no cup holder lids.
Any help would be great thanx.

you can sand and repaint it. . . .. .has that ever come across your mine. . . well that's only if it ate through only the paint and not the plastic. . .casue i redid my shifter surround when i was doing my lcd mount and people applaused my time looking for a really close match to the stock silver paint used

It was Banana Boat Maximum Sunblock, SPF 50.

The wife wants to repaint it. She wants to do some red interior accents. I think If I do it, I will redo all the silver in a red finish. I would like to have it sprayed with a good autopaint, Not some spray paint. If I do this it would not be for a while, So in the mean time I would like to replace it with a stock one.

traitorhound, What paint did you use? Got any pics?

Does any one know of a company that makes an aftermarket dashkit?

well. ..what me and my gf did was sand the old paint off with 220 or maybe a little finer sandpaper to roughen up the surface (my shifter surround had scratches all over it) and then washed it off to get rid of any dust and then allowed it to dry. then we used about 3-4 very light coats of filler primer and allowed about 1--3 min between each application. then we did the same for hte paint. .only it was about 5 light coats of paint. . then we did 2 coats of clear coat and allowed it to cure for 2 days. after that we used some rubbing compound on the beast and then the piece was silky smooth
