Had the car 2 weeks and I got 2 problems!!

First, I bought the car with this one. The light in the steering wheel column is all fucked up and no light comes out the green plastic bit, but yellow / white light comes out of the seams.

Second, my car alarm is locking and relocking the locks randomly while I drive. And just now the alarm went off when I tried to start it.

never heard of those problems happening before. geez, what else can go wrong? i think i'll knock on wood now and be glad my car doesn't suffer from any of the problems except a minor clunk.

I've heard of the alarm issue a couple times. I think one person opted to get an aftermarket alarm. My first choice will be to check with the dealership.

Strange... there's definitely been problems with people's alarm but not like you've described. I'd definitely have the dealer look at it.

Which dealer do you go to btw, Pluto?

go to mazda dealer, my locks did that. problem is your antennae for the keyless entry is too long and picks up random signals that unlock it. only happens while car is driving. tell them, they will shorten it and fix it

I can help you with that. Sounds like the little light fell out of it's receptacle on the lower steering column half. Snap off the upper half of the steering column (don't worry it's just a snap-on-off piece). You might be able to see the light at this point, but if not you can easily remove the lower half (3 screws on the bottom of the column) and get at it that way. Just stick the light back in the receptacle and you're good to go :D 5-10 minute fix tops.

Peace...(hippy)

just go to the dealer and tell them to fix it all. this is what a warranty is good for.

its not a problem with the car coming from the FACTORY at all
its the idiots at the port who half ass install the alarm

yes, the car doesn't come with an alarm from the factory, its installed once it gets off the boat

these problems sounds to me that the port installers fucked up

Basically, these cars are put together in Washington when the take them off the boat. Its us stupid americans fucking shit up, not the Mazda engineers in Japan.

I told you to go to Cory Fairbanks instead. The one you bought had been sitting in front of Classic since at least some time in May.

Sorry for the thread jack...

Kenetix, do you have a 93 or 94 RX7? The 93 had a R1 Package and the 94 had a R2 Package.

I used to have a 94 R2, I miss that car, but stayed in the shop too much.

Back to the thread...

Its labeled as a 94 but its really a late 93 model. Yeah, I love the car, but if you're like me I change my damn oil every 1500 miles. Gotta keep her running.

Holy shit, I just noticed you're in Ft. Walton beach. I used to be stationed at Eglin AFB. Had a nice house in Shalimar. I went back a couple of years ago and the whole place had totally changed. I remember how Destin/Ft. Walton was so gorgeous and now its one huge tourist attraction.

End of thread jack.

Classic Mazda got me the deal, you know? Anyway, the car had low miles, if it had been sitting there a long time or not.

My guess is because they treated most people like they treated me...not even letting me sit in the car.

But regardless, it's just my opinion that cory fairbanks is better.

I got my P5 at Fairbanks. They both treated me right.. I donno, I have heard they don't let you sit in the cars unless you sign some paperwork.. I had to give them some of my info before they let me.
