I remember us having a long thread going about a big MP3 meet....Is anyone still thinking about this? I remember being all about this but it kinda died off...anyone still willing to think about planning this and even getting all the P5 fanatics involved? Start posting and talking again and lets get our brain going on this one

Im There, just need ample notice. Like a month or two. Also I believe there are more MP3's in Cali than anywhere so that would probably, in my opinion, be the best place to host it. Sorry East Coasters & Canadians no offense. Or Maybe we could go to Arizona. :D

I'm up for a national meet. I just have to know when so I know how far it is so I can figure out if I have enough vacation days to drive there and back. Lets get something organized!

I am down with it. Has anybody else called mazda? What was their reply? You have to realize that any venue (where we decide to meet) will charge money, big money. I don't think we will be able to afford it. We need back up from mazda as well as many companies that are producing or have plans to produce parts for proteges. Does anybody have connections or know anybody that owns a place, like a stadium, track or something similar? What happened to the guy that said miatas are meeting in texas? Can he call that place and ask them if they would be interested in holding a protege meet. I realize its far from a lot of us but if we can get a deal and support then we just going to have to drive those extra miles. Who agrees?

If anyone wants a meet in Detroit I volunteer myself to organize everything. im all for a meet but i cant go halfway across the US. even if just the canadians want to meet ill host everything. I could even work on renting out one of the runways at the local airport. or the local community college for an auto x or something. I could also get a lot of highly to mildly tuned Scoobys, talons, eclipses, Rx7's. Just let me know and ill be all over it. i really want to meet some of the other MP3ers.

I take responsibility in organizing south florida protege's and then hopefully we will meet up with north florida owners and cruise on to detroit or wherever you decide. Please, start working on it. Should we keep this protege, mp5 and mp3 only?

BTW, since racing beat worked on the cars i think we should call them and find out if they are interested in helping in organizing a homecoming for the mp3 and other proteges. The most important thing now is getting the venue down and nailing down a date (summer?). Then we can print flyers and take them around all the dealerships. I can personally take them to all the south florida mazda dealers.

Summer is good...we should establish "reps" from all over the U.S. and Canada to help spread the word on a local and national level. What is the most cost effective way to promote this event? Lets not exclude either MP3 or P5. Organization and preparation are a must…should form some sort of committee to over see the entire operation.

Another idea is to organize a mp3/p5 cross state cruz!!! Imagine hundreds of mp3’s and p5’s coming in groups from all over the place to a central location OR we can split it up into west and east coast events…I believe this would be easier for many. What do you guys think? :cool:

i will start working on this stuff but i need some kind of idea of what everyones best dates around are. I would also like to know what other events and so on everyone would like. im basically a walking roledex i have connections with everyone somehow.

I think im going to plan on it being at the end of june or sometime in july. and the renting of the runway is not going to happen it costs 1500 dollars. so we could just go to the local drag strip.

Why don't we see if we can have it AT the Racing Beat facility in Irvine? I live about two hours away, so if need be I could be the one who talks to them.

Besides, southern california will have better weather year round to accomodate such a meet. Maybe coincide the meet to fall on the same weekend as a battle in pamona?
