they are still selling quite well in CA from what I understand. My dealer cannot keep them on the lot. I guess people in my town are buying into dealer hype about the car. They are some of the most dastardly sales people I've ever met....thats right, I said dastardly!!

There is known issues this time around and the car has some deadly competition from the SRT/4 Not to mention its price is close to a WRX with the inflated prices and Mazdas refusal to allow the 0% and rebates on the MSP.

I think the difference between MP3 and Speed sales may be volume. Wasn't the MP3 limited to only 2,000 units? The first relase of the 03 Speed was like 1750 in the US. It's near impossible to find an orange one now, and the blacks are getting more rare too.

Since those sold so well Mazda put out about 2000 more as the 3.5 in the new colors. With twice the volume it's reasonable for the speeds to take a little longer to disappear from the dealer lots.

Plus look at the economy now vs. 2001. I don't know about you guys, but I've been through a company going under, and 4 rounds of layoffs at my current job (last one was last monday) since 2001. I'm now making about $8G less a year than my salary in 2001. This seems to be a national trend with people being more reluctant to aquire a new car debt.

The interest incentives are helping, but they are a necessity with the sluggish economy. If the economy was better and more people in the Speed's target audience where comfortable with the future of their careers those cars would sell out A LOT faster.

All the dealers around me refused any rebate except college grad and they refused the 0% on it.

one dealer here refused rebate when i mentioned s plan, the other offered both splan and cash back, but only 5.99% interest, even with my mom co-signing with her PERFECT credit.

They have a few here left. Its disapointing to here the 2003.5s arent selling.

Not to me! I hope all of the cars sit and rot until Mazda fixes the hesitation problem. They're getting what they deserve right now.

yeah in town we only have 2 Mazdaspeed dealers and both combined have less than 10 available I would say. I havent seen another MSP in town personally, but I will agree its sooo rare to see an MP3. Saw one a couple of months ago and it looked pimp, the guy had it modded:)
