Itll be alright, trust me. My ride got broken into about a month ago. I was pissed off at everyone, until the insurance company told everything would be alright and they paid for it. BTW I was about 2000 miles away when it got broken into.

I feel for you 2..
some retard stole my MP3 badge ( making sure to scratch everything with a screwdriver, then he attemped to open my car by doing a hole in with the same screwdriver, alarm sounded so he ran away. Ended up costing 1000$ cuz they had to repaint 2 doors and the back, plus fix up my doorhandle and doorlock, etc..
Protege badge: 4.99$
MP3 Badge: 35.95$ ( what a ripoff ).
Anyway insurance paid for it as well.
Anyone selling a MP3 Racing hart mag btw? just 1.. i totaled mine, with the direction today <g> Gonna cost me. At least this was my fault so i can only be pissed at myself for that one. That'll teach me to drive with used up Dunlop tires.

thats what i thought when they stole my stock rims and tires and the towing company started towing the car on its rotors ruining the exhaust and back bumper...however, i was in germany and the adjuster wrote the check out to my wife AND the dealership...damn i thought the 3400 dollar bill would be excellant way to hook up my car considering i was getting rims and exhaust when i got back from iraq...instead, it just got me the same ole shit which both got removed within 2 wks of returning

Happen to me to dex and I ended up with a brand new car, little different circumstances being that mine was at the dealership at the time, but hey I'm sure it'll all work out for you, the car was still pretty new and it's up to your insurance company to bring it back to new so your going to end up with a lot of new parts in the car, or one hell of a big check kinda depends on what road you wanna take I suppose. But I feel for ya, and completely know what your going through, another Black Mica MSP ruined because of fuctards who can't pay for there own shit and have to steal from others.

You'll have your revenge the first time the damn radio flips half way up and dies. Just use the oppurtunity to get a good unit.
Dexter
07-19-2003, 10:27 PM
i actually liked the head unit alot and didnt really have any problems with it. im going to be needing a new center console, a whole new dashboard, and head unit. im going to ask them for a check for the value of all the parts and just repair everything myself, dont care if they dont wanna do that either., cuzi i really dont feel like my car being RAPED again by some fuckin guy who will probably just scratch the dash while installing it anyways.
bah, today totally fucking sucked.

it was parked in the midway parking lot cuz we too the train down to the metro. IN FUCKING DAYLIGHT THIS HAPPENS. bullshit!
but it had to be someone who knew about the mazdaspeed / kenwood stereo. its all they hacked out of there...but its not like the stereo advertises itself or anything....it looks just like the pocket, so someone had to know what they were looking for.
Dex those flip face BUllshit radios fool no one. Any decent theif ro audio person can guess pretty close what radio you have even with that flip garbage. All the flip does it tell the theif its probably something he wants. Get a detachable face and DETACH IT!!!
Same as alpine's "phantom face" HUs, those things are amongst the most idiotic theft-deterrent features ever. The kenwoods are even worse though: "oh, this car doesn't have a HU at all, just a big, bulky, black plastic plate"

dang, yea, some punk had the balls to come up in my driveway which wraps around the back of my house and tried to steal my face plate....I ran outside at the sound of the alarm in my boxers and took him out with one lick, must have been all that cell tech....the guy spent the night in jail with three missing teeth, i wish i could have taken a pic of the guys face when i threw that punch. Paritially my fault because i left the windows cracked. Luckly he did something that set off my alarm.

But that is what insurance is for and that is why my deductible has changed to $100 for comprehensive shit. I'm still paranoid as hell. It sucks to be that anal but I look out my window every 10 min to be exagerant.

Yeah, my deductable was like $500 too. Even though the stock headunit was like $700, the console was $290, and the AC controls were $200, they found a whole MP3 dash for like $1300. They took out the deductable, and I was left with a little under $900 to work with to get my new stuff. Everything worked out. :D

Dude man that sucks. I always get a low ($50) comprehensive deductible in case something like that happens. Unfortunately, a lot of times if your car is not paid off, the insurance company will make the check out to you and the leinholder or you and a shop. This keeps you from pocketing the cash. But if your car is paid off, you will get a nice check made out to yourself.

Yep $50 deductible here for comprehensive and $500 for collision. I just can't see having an expensive comprehensive deductible, especially if you need to replace windshields regularly or have lots of break-ins in your area.

codes in the head units don't do shit. GM has the same "autolock" system that so called "prevents" an HU from being used in another GM car - thus detering theft....it's total BS. If you know what you're stealing, then you know how to use it for your benefit.....

The Kenwood MP919(MSP radio) is detachable face.
Just read page 17 of your manual on how to do it. Its simple to do. Just wait for the face plate to flip down when you turn off the unit then pullit toward you. Keep in mind part of the area you could pull is the tray for the face plate. Pull that out and your F'd!

They are busy hassling competent drivers with capable cars who base their speed on safety instead of roadsigns, thus collecting money for the state. Meanwhile geriatrics are running through open air markets in their behemoth cars and killing people, and punks are destroying the stuff we work so hard to earn.

Amen brothers. You've both hit the nail squarely on the head. Part of the problem may be due to the fact that you can become a pig with only a 2-year degree. Requiring a 4-year degree might weed out a few more of the complete morons before they get their badge and gun.

A while back I read somewhere about a town, in Colorado I think, where at least a 4 year degree is required to be a cop. According to the story they had a very low rate of incidents with the cops there (like profiling, random beatings, etc). Fact is that it is a job that sucks and only attracts very naive well meaning people and assholes that can't wait to get their hands on a gun and badge. I feel sorry for the civic minded jerks (not Honda :) ) that sign up intending to do good. Anybody seen Training Day? :)
Even with a better degree there are no guarantees. I have run across lots of assholes with degrees. Sometimes they are worse because they are smart enough to be sneaky. Oh well. Sneaks to break into your car, and sneaks to eat doughnuts while it is happening. May as well switch to Anarchy and be done with it.

Yup! If not just total anarchy then there at least needs to be better checks in place to keep them in line and especially to keep them on the important issues. I mean, over the last 2 years here in Wisconsin they've had 2 months per year where they can pull you over and ticket you if you're not wearing a seat belt. That is SO F-ED UP! Who are the idiots that put these "rules" in place or thought this would be a good idea?! Dex...I don't know if this will make you feel better or not, but here goes:
Went to Sunoco in Bristol (town over from me) to get gas, and there's a kid not much older than me pumping gas into his '94 RX-7...man is that a nice car. Anywho...I get out and he starts talking to me about my car and I showed him some of the mods under the hood, etc. I asked him what he had under the hood and he was hesitant to show me and then he gave me the reason why. Just before the summer he went to a movie theater in plainville (borders bristol, but somhow all the trash from the inner city goes to this theater). While watching the film somone broke into his car and stole everything:
greddy TT, greddy manuallly controlled internal boost controller (but not the solenoid), intakes, exhaust, greddy IC (they couldn't get 2 pipes!), HKS SSQV, gauges, radio, speaks. They knew what they wanted...I felt so sorry for the guy and his beautiful car. I feel for you as well Dex. May theives burn in whatever hell there is or may be. cornhole fsk'rs!

Hey Dex. Sorry to hear about MORE shitty luck (valve stem caps) but they're super cheap. I don't know if you have any "Fleet Farm" stores in Illinois, but up here in Wisconsin we have a bunch and they sell chrome value caps there for like $1 per cap. They look pretty decent too. I'd look into that if you can.

Damn Dex, that F**KIN sucks!!! Who in their bright little in-bread mind, would steal valve stem caps? That is just plain f**kin retarded!!!
Dex man, you need to get yourself a rabbit`s foot, four leaf clover, or your own personal little leperchaun! You`re in some dire need of good luck!! Or even better....find yourself a hot irish chick(boobs)! If that does`nt give you good luck, I don`t know what will.
As for the stem caps, they can be found virtually anywhere:Autozone, Advance Auto, Wal-Mart, ect... just shop around.
I hope that your luck changes soon for the best.

Yes.... I think we would all like to see Dex's luck change. but history tells us, that this might not happen; at least not in the near future.

dont worry Dex... people who have bad luck like yours usually end up winning the lottery or something, eventually.

hey, actually maybe my luck is turning around. i have to send chase a copy of the insurance adjusters report, the check itself, and an itemized list of the parts im going to use to repair. they said its a 3 day turnaround and maybe ill have the check back friday.
luckily it doesnt say the model number of the radio in the adjusters report ;)
Do you want it fixed, adjusted, etc...., or do you want to hold out for the winning lottery ticket.
You can't have both!
