I work at carmax and can get extremely good deals on cars. During my wait for my 2k3.5 MSP to come in I tested out a lot of cars just for the hell of it.... Z06 (my price 28k) , S4 (my price 22k), 911 (my price 29k), GTI 18.t (My price 13k), and many others.
Now the Z06, 911, and S4 were just for shits and giggles... the GTI was an actuall test drive to perhaps buy. The GTI only had 10k miles on it adult driven, never raced, never smoked in and still had the new car smell. So it was not a thing i could easily pass up. I bought it and could not be happier. Only thing i miss the handling of the MSP. But everything else is more to my liking. Post pictures soon. But I will still support the MSP and wave to my fellow MSP and MP3 owners, plus i am still going to the Spool open house. See you all there David.

I forgot, you had you's stolen. To replace your 2003, you got a 2003.5. I understand.

Okay the deal with the price is as follows. Suppose you trade in your car into carmax and get ~17k for it. Now if i were to buy it in less then 14 days of it being there i will get it for that price minus 500 dollars. Now if it is there for more then 14 days i get what carmax puts into the car...(could be anywhere from 1000-9000 dollars cheaper.) Oh i would love to help you all out with getting a car but i can only get immediate family cars and at that only 2 cars a year. Reason for me not getting a S4 or Z06 is the insurence will kill me.

13K for a 1 year new MK4 GTI 1.8t, you are very lucky my friend. Such a fun engine to tune. Definitely go with the APR chip w/ EMCS. Yoo won't regret it :)

Yeah I love them......not they freaking block my radio. But I never eat or drink in any of my cars never did never will. I hate having crap spill in my cars making them smell like old food and mold.
That 1.8T is a great motor - chip it and get some real suspension under you and you'll be giving me a run for my money! I'm an ex-dubber and that GTI 1.8t or VR6 is a GREAT car. Get thee over to vwvortex.com too tho...
Good luck with the new car!

Nice choice ;)
check out the forums at vwvortex.com
You won't regret it, I bailed on the msp and bought a 20th aniv. GTI... If you want handling, get the suspension components from the 20th/337..... its amazing.
Anyway, GL, and go Revo chipping.... totally dealer/insurance company un-detectable, and you can spike 22 psi on a stock car ;)

Yeah yeah... I know the GTI is nasty in regards to tuning and what not. And, although it's not nearly the handler the MSP is, at least you don't feel EVERY SINGLE BUMP in the road. In fact, compared to the MSP, the GTI rides like a Cadillac!! Even with ALL that said... no one can argue the GTI even looks half as good as the MSP. I mean... the 337 looks great. but ONLy because it's got so much stuff added to it. Strip both cars down and look at em... the MSP is simply more pleasing to the eye. but naturally I'm biased.
But hey! As my mama told me long ago "Looks aren't everything!" haha So enjoy your GTI man!! Just go easy on the power windows. I hear they get stuck more than gerriatric driving a bumper car. L8R
Oh... one more thing. Wanna trade seats???
