Okay, I had a dyno run today, just because all of you freakin haters don't believe me about what I do, and the power the car makes. So here you go, believe it or not, I really don't give a fuck.
The image uplink isnt working so click for the file.

Those are nice numbers, How much do you think you have total into your car?

Kenetix
07-18-2003, 06:18 PM
As it sits right now, I've got about 3.5k in it.

How are you controlling fuel and ignition timing?
I assume the E-Manage?

With the Emanage and Exhuast/Intake improvements I would think 200+ would be possible then add to that another ~12 PSI to yeild another 50% increase and you numbers sound rational to me.

Fuel and ignition is a standalone Sacura1 unit from NipponRACE! in Tokyo, Japan. I really didn't want people to know what products I was using because I wanted to have the fastest MSP, but oh well. I'm of Japanese parents and my dad has some contacts back in Japan.

My e-manage I can not get to work with the timing but soon that should be solved. I'm not an electronics guy, but my friend Taki in Japan has got a hold of it right now, so hopefully it'll work when I get it back. Ther stand-alone isn't providing as much fuel as I'd like at the increased boost-levels.

I can understand wanting to keep what you have secret. I also know you understand from other threads that not revealing it gets :bs: called all over the place.

If you want ot aviod both pick up a scanner for $50 at stapples or something. Just a bit of advice nothing bad intended and I fully believe your results.

On a different topic and I appologize but why pick the MSP. You seem to have some bad ass hook ups and surely there are better cars to tune. What made you decide on the mazda?

I'm trying to do something nobody else can do. I want to make this Mazdaspeed the complete package, 11's 1/4 miles, track driven, grocery getter. I have a fully built FD3S, and am waiting on my RX-8. The Protege is my wifes car really, but I've been driving it for about 3 months while she's had the Rx-7. I pretty much have almost unlimited financial resources, my house payment is less than 500 and the only other bill I have is the Mazdaspeed payment and utilities and shit, I'm a welder by profession, so I just like to do things with the car.

Do you have an actual print out? How about pics of your car on the dyno?

I don't know how wel the phrase "no on eelse can do" is going to go over but I am behind you.

Be nice to see how it does and how much you get out of it as time marches on.

I would've believed you ran a 13.2 or whatever with all those mods. But not at 119mph. You're missing a good 150whp for that kind of trap in a 3000lb car. 109mph seems more realistic.

KyRaceFan

very impressive. Do you have a ignition map and fuel map you can share, or do you have the a/f ratios from the dyno?

thats definately some nice power... props.

I would have pics of the car, but again, I'm waiting on my camera back from Best Buy. Their warranty policy is fucking crazy. Hell, even I don't have a pic of my car.

Kenetix

Fuel maps I hacve NOTHING to do with, thats all done back in Tokyo. From my A/F I'm running about 10:1 on fuel, but thats lower than I'd like to be.

KyRaceFan
07-18-2003, 07:11 PM
yea, 10:1 is fairly rich, if you leaned it out some, then youd definately make some more power. Was this using race gas? If so what octane? 116? 109.5?

Kenetix
07-18-2003, 07:17 PM
Well, according to the a/f gauge, the fuel kick's in more as the bost increases thanks to the standalone. But I'd really like to be running around 23 pounds of boost, if I increase anymore than 18 it leans out. There is more power to be had out of the car, I was running a different stand alone and a moded HKS FCD when I did my track run in the car about a month ago. Oh I forgot to add I also had a fan blowing in the IC on the dyno, just incase anyone was wondering.

hey man i just wanted to say DAAAAMMNN nice numbers,
one ?, so all you have done to your engine internals are the pistons?
im thinking of just getting them first then turning up the boost some. of course with all the other mods i would need to make it happen, but is that it for you as far as internals go?

The rods are forged too.

tried to buy a Honda, but the salesman told me they were only for limp dicked bastards and closet homosexuals. So I couldn't get one.

umm i wanna know about the tranny. i didn't think that the tranny could handle 300hp.

Kenetix
07-19-2003, 08:37 PM
It handles it, for now ....... I dont know about the long run.

07-19-2003, 08:56 PM
Exactly what would happen when the tranny can't handle the power anymore?? I know what happens when you throw a rod(the link of the 2002 RSX-S for example), but never seen a tranny F'd up. Would it be a simple as replacing the tranny, or could it screw up other things along the way? Of course assuming this was in a 300 HP MSP, not my stock 150HP MSP:)

you get EXTREME jerking and even a dead stop. might jack up the torque converter. if it's bad enuf, gear pieces will fly throught the bell housing and damage your engine.

LinuxRacr
07-20-2003, 03:15 AM
I assume you are refering to an automatic with a torque converter?

AFaceInTheCrowd
07-20-2003, 03:26 AM
yeah i am with the torque converter. i know that standards don't have one.

i assumed he was talking of general tranny failure and i decided to throw that one in as well.

07-20-2003, 03:47 AM
the tranny should be fine as long as you don't beat the shit out of it. let it drop into gear, dont shove it, and just be kind to your transmission. I personally think alot of the tranny failures on this site are from people constantly dogging on the transmission, anything is going to fail if you beat it constantly.

Hey Kenetix so this run was made at 18psi and by the way have you already upgraded to a bigger turbo, thanks and by the way sorry for the bs flag on your last thread I just needed proof but this did it, good job and sorry again.

I've never seen a dyno sheet with MPH on the X axis. I'm no expert, but shouldn't that be RPM? What's up?

That is the same thing I was just thinking about.
