My clutch is the next thing to probably go. Once I get my exhaust I'm hoping for low 9's @ the lovely 6 psi I'm getting, we'll see.

Congrats, man...
A bit off topic, but where did you get the aluminum radiator/IC mounts?

Thanks man. What I really want to do is go to a track like button willow and tear it up since I have a huge fmic. But I want to upgrade the suspension first so that I won't have a problem hanging with some race cars.

Upgrade the suspension? It's not tuned enough for you? :D Wow.

Nice times, way to represent for the protege's, nice kill on the supercharged celica, the celica guy told me he dropped $6,000 in to the blitz kit..he needs to learn how to drive..

i'll definately be at OVIS next month! Hope to see you out there, wuold be nice to have a couple MSP's. Maybe we can line em up. By then, i should be at 10psi, with maybe a few other things done...

The suspension is decent. It could use some work though :)

Thanks mang. The celica could of got a wicked custom turbo kit for that amount. He is putting down 190 to the wheels also, soon he'll learn. I'm no pro but at least I can almost keep my reaction times .5-.6's. That guy was sleeping at the line.
I'm happy with the 9.8-.9's. @ the Q stock I was pulling 10.5-.6's. I'm hoping 9.3's with the full exhaust.
Maybe I'll see you next week also. Peace.

10.5 and 10.6s? The car should be MUCH faster than that stock. its 15.1 1/4 mile.. 10.5 in the 1/8th is about a 16.0-16.3 1/4 mile... What were your trap speeds? Spinning the tires? Hows your launching? Technique?
with your mods, intercooler, cai, you should be making quite a bit more power than stock too. Get an MBC, and boost gauge and run 10psi, and i think you'll be high 8's with good driving and launch. Add the exhaust, no cats, and some race gas at 13-14psi, and youve got a very quick car. Good luck!
oh yea, the guy with the s/c celica.. 190whp for 6gs, plus the car. What a waste of money.. Somethings definately wrong there.. the car makes 180bhp stock... thats about 160 to the wheels.. Just doesnt add up....

Ok not bad dude but i also run in the 1/8th mile last night my times are as follows:
at 8 psi holding steady
MSP vs. svt mustang
9.80at 75.30mph vs. 10.01
win to me
2nd run
MSP vs. type r with pistons full exhaust and drag tires 15s
9.77 at 76.32mph vs. 9.90
win to me]
3rd run
turned the boost up to 10 holding 12 spike
MSP vs. trans am
9.63 at 78.55 mph vs. 9.65
win to me i got him out of the hole
so i have a MBC injen intake cat back 2 1/2 inch exhaust racing on
the stock tires at 20 psi in them the car launches at 3000 does wheel hop alot and spins hard in 1st and 2nd . TRY letting the air down some i have been racing for about 12 years now. I am a above average driver i think. I know this car will go 9.40s if it doesnt spin i am buying some drag radials soon and 15s. Will run at battle of the imports on july 27th at MIR in maryland. any ?s please respond. good luck guys.

nice times, i think you raced some shitty ass drivers
svt mustang shoulda ran a really low 9, and the type r should have been well into the 8s. My friends type r with i/h/e/2 degrees timing, and no power steering belt ran a 9.3@78 on bald falken ziex's.
And the transam.... well thats an LS1 motor, big par, easily mid 8s.
Your car definately has 9.4s since you are trapping high. Are you dumping the clutch or slipping from 3k?
God damn i cant wait to turn my boost up some and have some fun launching.. argh.. break in sucks!

the type r is a friends car it has lsd advanced 18 degrees and has stock intake header the only mods is exhaust and pistons fuel pressure reg. the guy in the svt couldnt drive the trans am i think was a v6 not sure but the svt had thirty day tags on it i have it on video i killed him by two cars on 8psi and it hooked up.
you do have to ride the clutch a little bit so it wont wheel hop and spin you have to drive through it launching is hard with this car i had a si supercharged and it went 9.00 on slicks 243 whp. hey i like the hard pipes do they wotk good coller temps with them and how big did you go im getting some made but i have to find a down pipe first do you know of any....

The strip that soundbooming ran at stock sucks, it is a parking lot with NO traction off the line everyone seems to run slower there, but his new times are from our new strip that is a real track. The celica guy was pretty sad he spent so much money and got so little.. he should have got a MSP..he he

oh yea, i mentioned 2 degrees timing in a type r, i mean 2 degrees advanced over stock.. 18degrees.
cant wait.. cant wait.. AHHH

The 10.5's were in a stadium parking lot. My tire pressure was around 42psi, unfortunately I didn't know that @ the time. All the launches I had were just the the tires spinning. But I've seen people get anywhere from 14.9 to 15.6 in the quarter with the msp stock. That is from other board members to the mags.
Right now this car is not very consistent. As you can tell from people saying their car is fast one day and slow the next, mine is just the same. From the fuel issues to the weather affecting it drastically. I know you aren't trying knock on anyone (hopefully not) but I'm happy with the times. I think with the desert like weather, street tires, altitude, and unrealiable horsepower 9.8 was the fastest I could go in the car. A pro might of be able to do a little better but I'm not betting on it. Oh, and good luck with your times stock. Hopefully you get to break it in soon and show me up with a 9.8 stock, I think it's been done...
the other msp I was with had the 2nd cat eliminated, 12psi, and filter and ran a 9.6. I think he could of pulled a 9.5 or .4 but it was so freaking hot.
I don't have the slips or remember the trap times stock. It was a while ago. Obviously I was spinning with the amount of psi in the tires. I was launching @ 3000-3500 which didn't help. Technique..... ranged from shifting @ 6'g to 6500 to not letting off the clutch to keep the rpms up. I tried everything and couldn't get better than 10.5 and 10.4 on red lighting.
I'm not sure about my power because on a dyno dynamics dynometer I'm pushing 190 hp/tq on a hot day and on a dyno jet (which I like better) I'm pushing 160hp/164tq on a cool night with the cai and i/c.
I'm not really going for the mbc, I don't trust them and just wouldn't do it. I waiting for a ebc, better to be safe than sorry. With the few motors in msp's that have been blown I don't want to take any chances. Oh, and I'm waiting for my 3" turbo back exhaust to up the boost. So hopefully I'm in the low 9's with i/c, intake, and exhaust.
I wouldn't ever go no cats on the car. A 3" high flow is good enough. I don't know where you live but get pulled over in cali and they know what to look for and they don't see the cat . . . big fine plus they'll go after the shop that did it. CA is big on that smog and restriction crap. I'm moving dammit!
Yea the guy with the celica is in the same boat kinda with "us". He is running really rich and basically needs tuning. Those ems tuners know how much you can get out of a car just by toying with it.
again good luck and thanks for the comments. later.

Thanks for the info and help. I appreciate it. Maybe it's my driving or what but 9.8 on a hot day isn't bad for ME. Next time I'll let someone else drive my car to see what's up. Also remember I'm not sure what boost I'm running, I thought it was @ 6.5 but I want a real gauge to see what it's holding @. So with the full tank of gas I had (i couldn't sifon (sp) it out), my weight, and the 160 hp to the wheels that I have . . . using an estimated hp calculator my times in the 1/4 should be around a low 15. Correct? I don't know what it would be in the 18/ but I think I'm close to that.
Oh, I had 15" steelies with used street tires set to 20psi after each run since psi went up do to the heat. At least I was consistant :)
I was only trapping 73 max so I don't know . . . what were you 60 ft's maybe that is where I need to pick it up? thanks.
