View Full Version : Dealer selling MP3 for $$$$!

I was at Browns Fairfax Mazda about a month ago, and I spot a tinted out mp3 on their lot.

So I mosey on along it and check out the window sticker - they were selling it for either $18500 or $19500!!

I was like what the hell! The car had ~30K on it. The window sticker broke down the price like so:

~12K Blue Book Value
~2K or ~3K for modifications made to the car
---------> 4K Market surcharge <----------

I asked someone who worked there about it, and he said that they got it at an auction, and it seemed like the guy who last owned it didn't know what an MP3 was and just thought it was a regulal protege - -- - this story doesn't hold too much water in my opinion - but that's besides the point - they were selling it for more that I paid for mine, brand new.

Has anyone else seen a dealer selling an mp3 for this much?!

Did it have a spool turbo that was added by the dealer and warrentied? I wish MP3's were worth that much right now, I would sell mine.

If the price is in Canadian dollar, that seems right....hehe
I hope MP3 worth more too, but I see that MP3's price are dropping... :(

Dude,

I checked out that car when I went over to browns... it looked pretty stock to me, and at 19.5K, F that...

But it's gone now....

What's this equity business? Like a 30 year house loan but you add your car into the mix or something?

If I remember right, you refinance your house or something in that nature. I guess since I don't own my house, I'm out of the loop on this one.

Dragonbabe,

The only "mod" on there was lightly tinted windows... Everything else looked stock to me! :D

I am quite happy to hear things like that. Keep the price up! More people should be like that kid :)
