MSP Production Number + GREDDY Turbo Timer

Hey guys, I just got a Spicy Orange a few wks ago... any care tips?? Also, where can I find the production number?

I was also thinking about adding Injen RD Intake and gReddy Turbo Timer... but will that mess up my cars warrenty?? Also, if you have any opinions on these parts please let me know!!

NO PART VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY. ONLY, if you change the internals of the turbo or engine itself, would you void the warranty for those items.

As far as the turbo time. I always suggest getting one, if your car is boosted. I personally have th HKS tye-0. The Injen is a good investment also, great sound, quicker throttle responce, and I will soon have the Dyno numbers from MY car with it on.

As far as production numbers, call Mazda at 1-800-222-5500 use option number 5. and you will nedd your vin. They will give you your production number. :D

Did you have any problems w/ the HKS?? My concern is, will the car arm itself?? Because I don't think it will arm while the engine is still running afte rI take out the key... After the engine is turned off.. and the doors are locked, will the car arm itself?

When the turbo timer is counting down; you can lock all the doors by flipping the switch on the driver's door, but unable to arm the alarm until the timer stops. I believe there is a way around it, so you can arm. I think someone posted that here.

I can deal w/ it arming after the counter stops. Anyone mount it elsewhere?? Like the cubby under the mp3 player?

hks type 1 if you want to have some fun while you are alone.(o-60 times, quarter mile timer)

otherwise, just go with blitz if you want boost guage.

personally, i went with hks type 1 so i can ride around at night and get my quarter mile times, and i love the look of the autometer ultralite boost guage on my pillar, so yeah i didnt need the blitz.

if you just want turbo timer plain, get hks type 0. its the cheapest and does its job, and is not as bulky as greddy(that thing is huge, you can only fit it in your cd compartment)

The only thing I have done is the Dave B Aluminum brushed gauge rings...

Other things I want to do:
1. boost gauge (Autometer Ultra Lite)
2. Possibly the new ECU comming out from Spool (totally programmable)

And later down the road the MSP Spool kit :D w/ FMIC

Hey... Yeah I called up the service techs and they said if I modded the car, they'd void the warrenty.. will ur warrenty be voided if you mod?? Some dude yesterday gave me this whole thing about our rights to mod yadayadayada, i need to look through that. That damn mazda dealership wont call me back.

Dealers will sometimes be anal when it comes to modifying cars even though there is a law. The problem arises is that the law only states that the part must be directly related to the failure. Given enough BSing any service tech could make a intake sound like it caused a tranny failure. Its BS yes, but they do try it just stand firm. Also believe it can not void a entire warrenty just the repair on the failed part.

Far as intakes go just remove it when going in for service. Won't take but a few minutes once you get good at it.

I dunno, with some Mazduh dealers, if you drive your car..you void the warranty..

mazda is shady like that. i talked to my dealer about boost controller and turbo timer.. they said they think both would void warranty and they know that the controller would b/c it affects boost psi and air-fuel ratios.. but it's true. some dealerships void the warranty by driving it.. lol

I talked to my dealer guy, here's his response...

"Hi Tom


If you make modifcation any part of the car and it causes a failure to
another part of the car. That part will not be under warranty. So I would
not advise to make any chance until the car goes out of warranty. If you
have any other question I will be more then glad to answer them."

It depends on the Mods. This taken case by case. The warrant book tell
you about the mods. There is no blanket answer to your question. It all
depends on the mod and the problem your having with the car.
