I got 10,000 km on my P5 and still works great! But i had a little problem with the manual shift box. I can ear a metal noise when rpm is crossing 2.5 ...And i heard that i'm not the only one with this problem.
so guys, you maybe have problems if u have a 5 speed manual box.
But don't worry Mazda will fix it in a couple of months...
anyone went to high speed with P5??
Long life to www.protege5.com (http://www.protege5.com)

This website came a little to late for me. I had a black p5 auto with a full kenwood av system and it got smashed by a truck. I got the car fixed, but i couldnt bare to drive the car having seen what the truck did to it, so i traded it in. My mazda had 11000 miles when it came to its end and I loved it while i had it. One thing I did notice is, i had a funny rattling sound coming from the cat. before i traded it in, just something for you guys to watch for. Good Luck

HI everyone, I have a black p5, 5 speed, I love it. Mine is completely stock right now, with 5,800 miles on it. My p5 tops out at just under 120. hopefully going to increase that number, not to draw attention away from this site, but www.protege5online.com (http://www.protege5online.com) has injen CAI (cold air intake) as well as catback exhaust systems for sale for the p5, I will be purchasing these soon, and will post updates on performance.

Ok, I'm glad to welcome a BB site that isn't out on the sell sell sell tactic yet.
The rattle that I heard for two days on my p5 was the cover to the first cat (under the hood).
Second, for just over $250 dollars I could build 2 intakes for the car. I don't see the point in building something that looks that easy to build. Just my opinion on that subject.
Hope the site does well for you, and hope that people start to getting to the grass roots build ups of the motor. Remember the civic didn't start out with all of the equipment it has now. I remember because I had a CRX back in 91 when no one was around with turbos or superchargers.

As admins for this board and the mazda mp3 board, Antoine and me can pretty much say that we won't plaster you with popups or unsolicited emails. We're hoping to sell products (in a wholly separate part of the site) in the near future and provide you with special deals/offers.
Also, we welcome discussions of sites that sell products for the mp3, as long as it remains reasonable. That means sellers don't use this board as a promotional tool.
For any questions write to us in the feedback forum, or click the contact us link at the far bottom of every page.
Cheers.

hi all p5 owners.
i got my p5 in july and i love it. i have 12200 k/m on mine and the only problem was the windshield washer fluid light kept flickering. turns out just loose connecter. other than that when the car is cold i hear that rattle from the cat but once the car warms up it's fine. i've only had my car up too about 190 kph but i've hit red line in every gear except 5th. anyways fun car, handles great and very practical( tons of room for my ski stuff especially with the mazda/thule ski rack) really glad this site is finally up and running.
