Went to the movies tonight (saw Italian Job, excellent btw) and as we were walking to my car (way out in the middle of nowhere) a young couple in a Passat slowed almost to a stop to check out my car. How many other cars for less than $20,000 can do that?

not to many....I get that all the time too...

course it helps that seeing a P5 around here is rare.....there are only like 5 in the entire county......I love it. (stash)

Where I live there only one other that I have seen and it belongs to my friend that I convinced to buy it over a matrix. However where I work theres one on every corner and most of them are commercial or have an advertising for a business on the side of it. Linux and Pirana even saw one of the P5's for a company when we were out last monday.

Its nice to get the slow down glances but it doesnt happen as much to me as it did the first month...

pr5owner and I were down at a local Crappy Tire and parked it side by side...when we came out, everyone who was getting out of their cars or were approaching their cars and could see the two of us would look over and stare at it while they were walking...ahhh it feels so great to have a car that can be considered eye candy  also helps that it's Yellow :D

Its funny you mention this, while driving to the Monday meeting with Linux, a Mercedes 500SL (?) slowed down, check me out top to botton and gave me a big thumbs up. Then a 65 Mustang restored did the same.

Maybe it's the color too, 3 out of you 4 have yellow (add me and that's 5), and I have to say the yellow on our cars is the 2nd nicest around, with top honors going to the metallic yellow on the S2000. All the other yellows look pale by comparison, even my friend with a yellow Boxster says he likes my color better. The only car that comes close that I have seen is the SE-R spec-V. Not to leave Esteban and his silver P5 out of the loop, the P5 also looks really good in silver

its worse now with the mazdaspeed exhaust. it's almost unbearably loud for me on the freeway...ack, guess i have to get used to it.

my favorite "p5 jock" story happened at my girlfriend's apt. I was driving into her lot and 2 cops and a tow guy were towing somones car. After i parked i started walking away carrying my replica autoexe grill and one of the cops was like "hey!". at first i thought he was going to question me about the grill being stolen or something but they were asking all sorts of questions about the p5. i even jokingly told them about my illegal clear sidemarkers with white bulb and they just laughed and said "everyone does that".

Yeah, this car gets a lot of attention. Twice has someone driving next to me tried getting my attention to just to tell me the car is nice and give me a thumbs up :D

Actually the SE-R jacked our colour (Sunburst Yellow). Found this out when I was @ the car show and checked out the SE-R, the colour looked very similar to mine, looked at the brochure, right there it said Sunburst Yellow.

Every now and then I'll catch one here in Cali, but the ones I've seen are either pretty stock or all out show. There seems to be no median here.

I'm just happy that I'm the only yellow P5 in my city now.

I see about 5-10 a day depending if I go freeway driving, now that is one of many reasons I traded in my p5 for a mazdaspeed, now I get looks from everybody, Like just today twice in 15 minutes a grand am pulls up, says love your car, and then a se-r vspec pulls up and does the same but wanted to race, so I gave it a try, and beat him pretty good, his was stock, pulled over afterwords to talk, nice guy, anyway enough ranting. I still really like the look of the yellow p5 though, I couldn't get one because it would have been 6 months wait.

i was sitting in burger king today, and just while I was eating my burger, I saw no joke 4 cars see my car as they drove by and pulled in drove in a circle around my car checking it out and left, and about 3 more cars pointing at it fromt he nearby intersectoin.

talk about making my whole day. :)

ya, i get the "look" all the time! i think what attracted me to the p5 is the same thing other people see, it's unique body style, great lines and cool colors!
hey slug, see you @ gillette (12 days to go for foxboro meet) i'll be the old guy with the silver p5! joe

I'm amazed by the amount of complements I get. Everyone comments on how nice the color is and how good the car looks. Even got a few on how many options the car has. It's the only Laser blue one I've seen around my area-which is a BIG area, due to my 150 mile commute! It's been years since I've had a carload of girls yelling at me (other than obsenities)...that was fun (naughty)

Almost every time I leave my parking spot someone stops, and says "nice looking ride".

BTW the white isn't that bad.:D
