TURBO3WAGON

Yesterday was a sad day for me as I left my Mazdaspeed at the Subaru dealer. I have traded my Speed in for a 03 WRX wagon for my wife. I’ll be driving my wife’s x Protégé es sportmatic till the RX8, R32 or STI options become available. I got $17,600 for the Speed and paid 19,800.00 for the WRX with 7500 miles on it. It belonged to a school teacher who traded up for the new Forster 2.0 turbo. After battling the hesitation / stumble issue for the past two months, yesterday the frustration overcame the love I had for my Speed. Despite the encouraging messages I received yesterday, I had to end my sleepless insanity. I would like to take a moment to express my complete satisfaction with this Forum and its dedicated members who have become a part of my daily chatting ritual. I can honestly say that this forum has a personal element which many other forum lack, making it bar none the best forum I’ve been associated with. Special thanks to Greg, AKA ARG#7 for being such a stand up guy, Kwiktsi & his associates for there pursuit in refining & taping into the Mazdaspeed’s true potential, and to the contributing members that make this such a great forum to be a part of. I’ll check in from time to time and put my $.02 in, but for now I bid you adieu…..

Well I am certainly saddened to hear of your frustration and pain your experienced with you MSP.
I hope Mazda does a better job of helping its customers in the future. I was on the verge of buying that very same make and Model of Subi but was swept away at the last minute by a Ford Partner program and the Devilishly good looks of the MSP.
Good luck with you Subi and I hope you are completely content with your purchase.
YES! This forum is great. Any other forum would have come down on me for being ME. Yes I am one goofy MOFO but this place seems to enjoy my certain brand of insanity and I truly enjoy the reciprocation of kind word, insults, and positive oral discourse.
It short I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED FORUM!
Greg?
Atoninoe? Yo admin you rock for all the latitude you give us.
I salute you Sir! In fact I salute you all from the Turd luvers (busty) to the know it alls (1sty), to the goof offs (take your pick)
to the terminally pissed (Jecky Ju) and everyone in between.
SUP BITCHES? YOU RAWK!

This seems like a drastic measure but I certainly can understand your decision. Considering there is still an ES in the family you really should continue to frequent the forum. You never know, you just might want to have some fun with that ES;)

you guys gotta learn to read. he didn't get an STI or an Evo or an RX-8. those are all future posibilities.
Dude, your not going anywhere!
1st, you still have a protege atleast for now.
2nd, I have you ankle cuffed to the floor. Look down :D.
have fun with the STI !!! (just kidding jeckel :) )
Sad sad day when a fine car is plagued by such problems that are so easily fixed yet ignored by the manufacturer. Your not the only one to leave, many have traded their mp3's due to the clunk, word is on the street now that there are problems with the Speeds, and it's all Mazda's fault for taking so long to react to it.
I have had the pleasure of seeing a side of Mazda that many have not. And as you all know I am moving into a Speed myself ( Next week actually ) If I truly believed that these issues would not be dealt with, I'd be driving something else by now....long ago actually, but instead, I have choosen to stick the Mazda for another few years by getting a speed and I feel very confident that these two issues ( clunk/hesitation) will be resolved at some point. I may eat my own words some day for saying that, I sure as hell hope I'm not wrong, but every effort I have seen so far indicates that I am not.
Turbo3wagon, I'm sorry to see you go buddy, you haven't been with us that long, but you will be missed I'm sure. Take care, enjoy whatever car you get next **cough rx-8 cough** and be sure to check in once in a while. just because you have no speed, it doesn't mean you gotta leave.
take care

Hey guys, the WRX wagon is for the wife and won’t be moded out. As for the Protégé es I’m driving; it nice, drives well and is almost paid off. I most definitely will not be tricking out a non turbo automatic protégé.. What ever I do end up buying will be seriously researched, test-driven hard and inspected thoroughly before I purchase it.
Anyhow, thanks for the kind thoughts again. I’ll be hanging around every now & then. I’m sure Mazda will come thru sooner or later.
Enjoy your MAZDASPEED ladies!

A friend of mine just bought the TSX, and damn ... that is one sweet machine. It's more luxurious than sporty (having only 200 horses under the hood), but the ride is quiet and comfy, the shifting is smooth as silk, and the interior is really really pleasing to the eye. I think my favorite part of car, oddly enough, is the LED in the dome light that shines a concentrated beam of blue light right on top of the shift knob. Very cool ... (2thumbs)

Good luck Turbo3Wagon. While still a relative newbie to these forums, I've always appreciated your input and what you brought to the table. Hope to see you around sometime in the future.

Miguel, it’s nice to hear from you again. Thanks for all the support man, I miss the Speed already but know there’s something better out there for me. I’m still looking around waiting for the RX8 to hit the show rooms. My friend actually has a deposit on a silver one in Miami and will be one of the first to receive one. Let me know when your it town so that we can meet up and hang. The wife’s WRX runs strong and handles great, it’s a sweet car. I never thought I would be saying “ The wife’s WRX”. Crazy isn’t it.

Stealth5: It's the wagon, I prefer the sedan myself. I'll wait for the RX8, STI and VW R32 to arrive before making a finial decision.
It's quick for a wagon. Silver with black interior. I think it was a good & save choice for the wife.
I may be bidding you adieu, too.:'(

Greg, I’m not sure you will need to go those extremes either. Just balance out your time a little better and you’ll find time for everything.

That's weird.. you sold the fast car and kept the slow car , bought another fast car and gave it to your wife.....
ohhhhkk ...
why not trade the protege es in and then get the Wagon.. Figure you MIGHT have broke even on the MSP and still gonna owe on the Scooby , so Just get rid of the ES and for the WRX and keep the MSP ....
I would never step down to a ES after having a MSP .. unless it was a money issue ... then that's different..
The WRX can hold more boost though .....

who cares if its a wagon, its not THAT much heavier than the sedan...id drive either one, fast is fast

I gave the WRX wagon to the wife so that I would start modifying it, besides it’s automatic. I really want to wait a bit cause there are some interesting new cars coming out. Like I said before the STI, RX8 and VW R32 are about to hit the street and may be the car I’m looking for. My Mazdaspeed wasn’t constantly fast anyway, at least not in this hot weather. My buddies 180hp VW GTI 1.8T would take me all the time, well except where there were curvy curves.
This is a great forum and I do plan to frequent it from time to time.
