So I go to visit the bookstore downhere in Tampa and what do I see? Its a shiny new silverish Protege with a Mazdaspeed logo in the parking lot! Hmm... could it be a titanium? Wait a sec, thats the 2003.0 wing.. and no ground effects.. look at that cheesy little exhaust... OMFG the Mazdaspeed logo is a sticker!!!:wtf:

How lame is that? (notcool)

Thats like one time when I saw a Nissan SE-R (not a Spec V)...but sure enough, this dumbass had a little 'SPEC-V' sticker up on his side skirt..not even in the right damn place....what a fag.

I LOVE THOSE !

Was it the MazdaSpeed exhaust?

Doesn't really sound like it which case he is probably just trying to look like one.

But remember MazdaSpeed is not the same as having Type-R or V-Spec on your car. MazdaSpeed is a factory aftermarket division of Mazda so basically any car can be a "MazdaSpeed".

*dones flame suit from past experiance on these threads* :D

You know, you can buy the wing, the ground effects, side skirts, etc from your Mazda dealer. I got a Protege accesories pamphlet with my car (not that i needed it). It also has the replacement speakers.

Don't think you can but the exhaust. I know you can't buy the sub.

I don't see a problem with it. Nothing says you can't buy an ES and upgrade/tune it yourself. At least somebody is making money for MazdaSpeed. Maybe they can use it for ECU R&D.

I'm all for getting an es and upgrading.. just keep the damn stickers off until your in the same league.

"the love child of Mazda and VW??"

LOL

Quite the imagery there... nope, I had a '91 ex-SCCA SSB GTI 16V and my wife wanted her own GTI so... I modded her van a little and thar ya go! This is generation II of the family van, but now the KIDS want the GTI badging... so once again we go down the well-trodden modification trail...

Agreed, though, that mods MUST be done so the base vehicle is worthy of the badge.

but now the KIDS want the GTI badging

hehe cute.
Could just see a family outing for you:
You-"Hey who wants to go to Pep Boys"
Little Jr-"Ohh Oh please daddy they got new APC stuff in"
You-"Darn toting Jr, we going for the Altezzas next"
Little Jr-"Yeppieee!"
You-"And if you behalf on the way there you can pick out the next sticker-Type-R or VTEC"
Little Jr pisses his pants at the excitment of it all.

:D
(all joking of course)

Ohhhhhhhh put a MPV badge on the VW :) Got to spread the love around there.

The funniest "rebadging" of a car I have seen was a Mustang. A Skyline GTR badge was placed right where the Cobra badge would had been placed. Quite funny.

I saw the same rebadging done in an import video too. Teckademics I think.

The video on the Teck had me rolling on the floor for minutes

Camera guy"Is a GTR Mustang"
Owner"Ya ya special addition, turbo, rotary *forget the rest*"
Camera guy-"Rotary! With pistions?"
owner-"Ya ya Pistions and rods, turbo special addition GTR"

LOL the owner had not a idea and the camera man was just soooo slamming him.

Mazdaspeed is a little hard though, you can buy all of our parts except our turbo and it'd be all Mazdaspeed, sort of like TRD. i guess maybe the actual MS badge shouldn't go on a modded car...

i dont believe you because if you are on the highway and you want to MOVE you downshift to 3rd. going down to 4th does nothing, especially if you do it slow

On the turbo note...My service manger told me he was talking to mazda and they are looking at having a bolt on turbo (similar to the speed I assume) as a dealer installed option with warranty. He said they were expecting it late summer early fall.

this is probably a load of :bs: , and if it is true, probly worth a fortune.

yeah...........I thought so. I dont know what would be the benefit anyway aside from the warranty. I wish someone would contact a mazdaspeed rep and get his/her ass on this board to answer some questions. I think the people here would probably make the poor sole cry...........................

they would be bombarded with questions haha.

the only thing close to something like this is the partial turbo kit that they are selling on mazdamotorsports...comes with a warranty...but you have to be registered to buy

uhh im pretty sure nothing mazdamotorsports sells comes with any kind of warranty

Mazda Competition and stock parts are sold "as is" and without warranty of any kind. All implied warranties, including all warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby disclaimed.

Was it an E36 4dr or an E46 4dr? Cuz the E36 model years did offer a 4dr M3. The current model, E46 does not have the 4dr M3.....yet (wishful thinking)?
