One of my dave b gauge rings fell out (the center one) so I got pissed this morning and superglued the bastard in.
NO Problem, right?
Well, I didn't let it sit too long (figured 5 min was ok) and then I put the case back togeter and put the dash back in. WELL Long story short, the fumes from the still drying glue adheared to the plastic cover protecting the gauges.
Now, I am stuck trying to clean it. I am using alchohol swabs, etc, and all I get for my efforts is a scratched, hazy plastic gauge protector.
Does anyone know where I can get that plastic casing for my gauges? I need to get a replacement!
*edit* searching did no good :(

That's why he says not to use superglue.
As for a replacment, a Junkyard would be the only place where you wouldn't get ripped off.

Yes,
I know about not supergluing, but decided edge wise. I am not blaming dave at all.
Junkyard is a good idea....

I krazy glued mine ... ;) You should find out what the dealer is charging for them, just to find out what the worst case scenario would be. Good luck !

Yeah I had to replace the black piece around the outside of the gauges. I looked at 3 or 4 junkyards before finally going to the dealer. I assumed I was gonna get raped. But it was only like $25. Some things are an ass load at the dealer and some things aren't that bad. Go figure.

Hey try using fingernail polish remover on it first. It may work. Get the non-acetone type. It is more gentle.
The scratches.....well that is unfixable.....but the superglue will come undone with fingernail polish remover!

Actually look on the web and see if there is some stuff that can help buff out the scratches on the plastic. I think I have read or heard about something that can do it and that really works.....I just can't remember what it is at the moment!

Think it to late for the nail remover since he already scratch the covering :(
Little tip:Take a small piece of duct tape and mount it inside the ring, or paper. I used tape this time to make it rub a little more and give it a more solid fit. (They fit nicely as is just wanted the extra insurance).

Thanks, but they didn't come up w/ anything. I tried OEM parts, and some others but OH well, they said I would have to go to the dealer.
I say F'k it. I put it back together, and you really can't tell. REMillers, thanks for the tape idea, but it's already superglued down. Oh well.
Cirielle, Thanks for the Nail Polish remover, I think I got most of it out...
