im going 18" for sure, and im staying away from anything heavy, but not neccesarily looking for something super light.
Im hoping for pics just to see how different colors/styles work with the car in general

They're not 18s, but they'll do well, especially with some taller rubber (those are 205/40-17s...)

I like gunmetal, and hyperblack type wheels but am I the only one that thinks a black wheel on a bright car looks kinda like a school bus?

i agree, dont get any black or gunmetal rims..................i think it will make your beautiful msp look 'cheap.' i would definitely get some silver or hypersilver rims..........

I agree with the dark rims on an orange car, I don't like it. Although there was one guy here that a set on it that didn't look too bad at all. Regardless, I wouldn't do it, reminds me of winter steelies, and school buses :) and old cars that can't afford hub caps.

I like dark grey or gunmetal rims, i haven't seen it on the Spicy Orange yet.
Gunmetal on a silver car....yummmmmmmy!
MS MSP #143
Gunmetal on a BLACK car... stealth-look...
have to say I'm not really a fan of black rims - why spend the money for something you cannot see? Just paint the stockers black.
Is there a market for MSP stock wheels?
please sell me your stock rims man.. I want thoes so bad. I would pay shipping and everything
I cannot imagine replacing my 17" Racing Harts. I love 'em!! Nobody can believe they aren't option wheels.
here's a pic of some carbon grey wheels thats on my spicy. there probley some better pictures on here somewhere.
I have no intentions of replacing the ones on the titanium. I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED RIMS!
1338, yeah, that's the guy I was talking about. Those look pretty good. I think flat black would look dumb, but the softer gunmetal type color isn't bad.

how come those don't look like 17's? wait, nevermind. i ask myself the same thing sometimes with my stock RH's.
i really wanna get the SSR Comps in an 18x7.5" wheel but currently do not have the $419 or whatever they are a peice right now, plus tires.

ATTN PING:
please resize that avatar pic ... its driving me CrAzY! AHHHH!!!
J/k ...... (kinda)
1338 - what wheels are those? Look like a MM... I'm thinking of that look on a black mica, would look bad...
I love my MSP rims too, not to worry, but I'm thinking of reducing the bling factor a notch, going for kind of a stealth-bling. I may consider refinishing these in gunmetal... heck they're only about 2600 miles old and I'm already... oh nevermind, no time for conscience I've got a CAR to play with!
Are the 2003.5 rims really that much darker? I haven't seen them in person...

I think what needs to be addressed first is how much you are planning to spend. Once we all know how much, we can better assist you. Prices for 18 inch wheels vary depending on brand and style, not necessarily weight. Here are some of the choices I considered when thinking about 18's. 5 Zigen FN01R-C 18's are 17lbs (http://www.5zigenusa.com/pages/wheels/fn01rc.html), Rev Model II 18's weigh 19lbs (http://store.yahoo.com/rev-wheels/revmodelii.html), Rota Subzero 18's are 19lbs (http://www.machiii.net/machiii/html/wheels/rota_subzero.html). All of those I just listed are what I consider bargain wheels. Good price, good style, good weight and they're all 18's like you wanted. Now depending on your budget you could also consider these, VOLK LE28N (http://www.forperformance.com/ce28nlim_l.jpg), Gram Lights 57F Pro (http://www.forperformance.com/glights57fpro.html), BBS LM (http://www.gti18t.com/images/gti_19_bbs_lm.jpg), iForged (http://www.iforged.com/showroom/gallery). Those ones I just listed are expensive, but buying those would set you aside from every other Protege out there. Not to mention that the majority of the value of your vehicle would be you wheels.;)
