OK guys and gals, post up if your interested and give some feedback.

Any Saturday or Sunday works for me with about 3 weeks in advance. Personally, I'd prefer Saturday. In Charlotte we hung out at a preapproved parking lot and then went out later to hang out for dinner at restaurant/sports bar/arcade. Worked out great and had a good time.

No its a mini truck and imports show. Last year it was the Southwest mini truckin nationals sponsered by Nopi and Mini truckin. Unfortunatly the show grew to big for Nopi to sponser it so now it is just Mini Truckin

Hey everybody else. I just came over from Protogeclub.com. Let's get this going. Alright, here's what I'm thinking guys, We can meet up at my work. It's a Schlotzsky's Deli right in Knoxville. The one near West Town for you Knoxvillians. Maybe around noonish, or a little before. We can find a place to eat where we can just sit and chat. Then we could go to maybe a park or some other parking lot to see everyone's cars and maybe get some pics. Then I thought we could head to Gatlinburg. It's about a 30-45 drive. There's all kinds of stuff to do. We could cruise there when it gets darker. There's go carts and sh*t if we get bored. There's usually a decent crowd up there on Saturday nights. I know you guys don't know me, but I figued I'd try and get some definite plans going. I think July 19 seemed to work for everyone. How does this sound to everyone?

By the way, thank god there's more pro's in Knoxville. On Protegeclub there's only 2 of us. I was beginning to think we were the only ones.

I say (notcool) to Gatlinburg. I'm driving about 2 hours (one way), and several of us are driving more, so I don't really want to drive any more. Plug Gatlinburg is getting to the point that it's kind of cheezey. I still say we go to Spicy's fro some wings. :D

I think you have a great idea but I would agree adding more travel for some of us is a bit much. I will be traveling from Raleigh the day before the meet to SC, and from there to TN. All in all it's going to be 5+ hours total. I think it would be fun to have an after party of some kind but maybe something closer to the initial meet location?

Does the schlotzski's have a large parking lot? Would we be able to get clearance to have a bunch of people loitering looking at cars for a few hours?

as it turns out, I am actually hitting the Gap on the 26th and 27th. Fundage is low right now (hubby has racked up over $900 in speeding tickets--I can't even race), so I may only have enough dinero to afford the last weekend in July. :(

We'll see how it turns out though. hopefully I can attend the Protege meet too. :)

Hey guys. I'm really sorry about the long time it took for this reply. I went to visit family in Chicago for the weekend. I was going to use their computer to get on here. But I never got it to work right. I don't know. OK, so I see the 19th isn't happening. What happened? The 2nd is fine with me. Has that been set in stone. I had already asked off for the 19th, so I just want to make sure before I say I can work that day.

Sorry you got stuck trying to do everything again Witchdoktor. I'm not going anywhere else so I'll try not to stick you with it all. So it's agreed we don't want to do Gatlinburg? I can't blame you guys. I just got back from a 8 hour drive. I just thought there might be more to do. The only thing about cruising here in Knoxville is that with the UT campus closed for summer, there won't be a lot of cars here. But if you guys want to stay here, cool. Did you want to find a club, or a bar? Something like that would be OK, I just don't know if you guys are up for drinking since I don't know you guys that well.

As for meeting at my work, it would depend on how many and what time. Are you guys still wanting lunchtime to meet or earlier? If it's earlier we can definately hang for awhile. I figured we would want to eat somewhere nicer anyways. Spicy's is cool. I'll double check with the owner that we can hang at my work until we're ready to go somewhere else. It might be nice to find a better parking lot to take some pics anyway. I'll find something close. Anyway, so it's Aug. 2. Meet at Schlotzsky's 10 or 11 would be great for me, but you guys are driving in so let me know when you can get here. How does that sound?

August 2nd works for most everyone. 2PM would be a good time for us out of towners. Two charlotte meets were at UNCC. One member who goes there secured the lot with campus police, then we went off to eat after that.

We got kicked out because we were acting a little crazy. We all were driving up to the top of the parking garage to take some pictures. Well if you're in a parking garage you have to lay a little rubber. So 20 or so cars laying rubber in a parking garage and reving their engines got us kicked out.

which Schlotzkky's Deli there are several in knoxville? is this gonna be on the westside or eastside of knoxville? btw, up here in maryland we just took the backlot of the mall all day long no one said anything infact the security guards came up and looked at the cars but we weren't acting crazy. But at west town mall in knoxville the security guards are dicks. hell me and a friend were just taking pictures of some cars and we got kicked out LOL, but east town mall i dont foresee a problem or even better yet oak ridge mall, they cruise down there every friday satarday and sunday, also they cruise in pigeon forge as well, there are also the group of fast and the furious wanna be cars. Seriously there is a rx7 poser and a eclipse fnf wanna be down there LOL.
Who said it takes a hour and a half to get down there, try 30 mins.. no problem.

I haven't seen any protege's down there sept for mine about three months ago when i was visiting. I dunno how late everyone was planning to stay, but it'd be cool to make an appearance with alot of other proteges, but for some of you guys that are trekking from afar i wouldn't wanna drive much either.

Up to you guys im up for anything, i hopefully should be in town by august 2nd.

We'll be looking for a house to rent. Once we find one adn get it all worked out we'll be heading back to maryland to get our stuff its gonna take two trips, we should be moved in last week of july. Well there is another option. About 10 minutes away is a big parking lot at KMart where cars meet up on Saturday nights. It's some hot rods but also a lot of imports. Our friends go a lot. If you guys just want to hang and talk and see cars we sould do that and it's close. It's at Clinton Hwy. if anyone here knows where that is. We can eat and then go there if you guys want. It's very little driving distance from my work. Are you guys wanting to eat at Spicy's then? That seemed to be the vote.

I actually haven't been to Clinton Hwy in awhile, but I hear it's getting better. I just was trying to think of something else to do after we eat if no one wants to drive out to Gatlinburg, shich is fine with me. Supposedly there is a decent mix of people there. Like I said there are some rednecks in their hot rods but also a lot of imports. It's just an idea of a place where we can go where I know we can hang without being run off and I know there should be parking.
I don't mind Spicy's. The only thing is I'm not sure sbout parking on the strip on a Saturday. I have heard it's not the safest area to leave your car at. I'm up for Hooters or whatever. I don't know how packed it will be, but it's an idea. We(my husband and I)haven't been there in awhile. Um, not that we went a lot since I'm not THAT kind of girl(he,he). ANYWAY... it's up to you guys but I thought that's one place we could go and hang with other cars around so we don't get run off.

I went to Clinton Hwy. last night. It was well, OK. There were some of our friends with nice cars. Then there were the lame ass imports of course. Then there was a lot of old/fast hot rods. There were a few lowrider trucks and some of your token mustangs or camaros. It really was a big mix. It's a pretty big parking lot and it was pretty packed so we could go there just to hang out. It wasn't bad and it was a secure parking lot. The only problem might be finding a lot of parking together.

Miyabi's is a possibility, but it is pretty expenisive. I don't know what everyone's money situation is. It's kind of quiet too. Hooters wouldn't be bad as long as it isn't too late. There is only bikes on Thursday as far as I know. John(my husband) and I go to Charlie Peppers a lot. They aren't usually too crowded, not too expensive and friendly. Just an idea.

Well the time is nearing, tomorrow is the day. Anybody got any last minute mods they are doing today? I am puttiing on a racing beat exhaust. Also just lowered the car a week ago. Looking forward to seeing everyone here. I just hope the weather will hold off. It looks like there is about a 30% chance of rain tomorrow. We have had nothing but rain lately.

edit: BTW my buddy with a 96 grand am is going to come by at the deli to check out the cars. His car is pretty nice for a grand am, he is supposed to get it out of the shop today. He had the whole thing painted some sort of blue and had his side skirts molded. He also has been doing a lot of custom paint on the interior. Also, our Mazda dealership in town just got in a new shipment of RX-8s yesterday while I was there looking at MSP. I was speechless.

My last minute mod will be wash and wax the car-lol. Sorry guys and gal (steph :p;) ) but my car will look pretty shitty on the inside. My interior is 75% tweeded and the custom trunk has been pulled out for the time being. Hope the weather holds up nicely for us and look foward to meeting you all :D

It cracked me up hearing all of you talk because everyone one of you cracked on the same things that David does on people's cars. We just hung out and talked and drank and then David and Jeremy and I headed over to a club, only to find out it was pretty much closing as we got there...
