no worko. Best thing to do is have two web browsers open. One for uploading the pics, and the other for posting the reply.

Basically, then you just copy paste the link in from where you manage files using one web browser, and into the other web browser that has your reply......hard to explain.

more pics from

SaaBaaDoo !!!

Big thanks to one of our newest member for sharing some pics of a car that seems to have very little pics of it anywhere. I mean, getting pics of the orange / black is obviously a joke, and the yellow is common as well, but this titanium is rare for some reason.

Looks great. Even though I own the 2003, I have no preference between the two styles. I'd be just as happy with either one.

Congrats!

Titanium is rare? According to Mazda's inventory search John Hine here in SD has EIGHT of them.

btw, Beautiful car!(2thumbs)

Here are the VINS from the search I just did...
VIN: JM1BJ227230646043
VIN: JM1BJ227230646074
VIN: JM1BJ227430646044
VIN: JM1BJ227530646070
VIN: JM1BJ227730646071
VIN: JM1BJ227930645553
VIN: JM1BJ227930646069
VIN: JM1BJ227930646072

So either MazdaUSA.com's inventory search shows dealer allotment or pipeline for the speed or the guy you talked to is freakin blind. On a side note I was over there yesterday to try and get some bolts for my rack and didn't see any on the lot, but their lot is so freakin small they put most new inventory in storage.

What's with the yellow 'R' for Reverse on the gear knob?! It looks like a generic 'type R' style letter that imo looks like sh*t - hey I know, it means you'll go really fast...

...in reverse! :wtf:

Of course, maybe it's the light, and I know I sound picky - not serious...

Beautiful car however! (2thumbs)

hey yeah im sorry that shift knob is fuckin Type-R-ediculous. the rest of the car is beautiful though, and the shift knob can be changed. i was even thinking about painting the centers of the needles on my gauge cluser silver cuz it looks nice.

Nice car. Is the new front end without the fogs just a lip or is it a whole new front end piece? Sorry for asking a stupid Q but haven't seen one of these in person yet and you can't tell from these pics.

Newf
06-03-2003, 05:27 PM
I actually really like the Mazdaspeed knob better. I like how the colors of it and name match the rest of the car.

And the Lip on the front is just that...a lip, not a new front bumper. It's an addon that goes over the bottom half of the bumper, and inside where the fogs are. Stock fogs may not fit with this lip on. But no one has tried it yet. A little modification might go a long ways.

Dexter

you like how the yellow type R sticks out? lol

ottawaP5
06-03-2003, 05:48 PM
Damn those pics make me want to get one and i havnt even done my first payment on the P5 yet lol. Oh well we cant get everything in life i guess.

Are these cars difficult to get a hold of or have they all been sold? (any color i mean)

Newf
06-03-2003, 06:03 PM
I can see what you are saying about the R thing. But, many of my past cars have had stickers on the shifter, and the R is sometimes a Different color. It isn't so unusual,l sometimes it's a different color, sometimes it's circled or bolded to make it stand out so idiots realize it is Reverse.

The R is written in the same font as the other numbers on the MAzdaspeed one, it's by itself as is 1,2,3,4,5, and the only indication of it being a Type R thing is really just in your own heads imho.

isn't this being really anal?

The R doesn't look any worse then the way they got sparco written on the 2003's...all warped an uneven. But does anyone care....no.

TampaBlackMSP
06-03-2003, 10:00 PM
Now wait a minute, my Sparco knob doesn't look like anything other than a killer aftermarket Sparco product - no uneven warped anything!

In our heads? Did you actually look at the picture - it's a different font (that just happens to resemble the cheap ricey Discount Auto generic 'R' crap), and it's yellow! We wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't immediately noticeable...

But yeah, it is a bit trivial to go on about a friggin' knob. Whatever, who gives a crap...

Newf
06-03-2003, 10:02 PM
hee hee....easy buddy. Just playin with ya dude!

It's just a shift knob. :)

But how fast one defends their knob!

Newf
06-03-2003, 10:04 PM
and it isn't a different font.

Look at the numbers, and look at the R....same font, or damn close.

Why would the other pic look so different? Where did the pic above come from? If I had a '03.5, I'd certainly want that one, rather than what 'appeared' to be the first one...

Just can't let go of the whole font thing, can you newf?! :D jk

This pic came from the NAIAS CD that someone posted way back. It was a bunch of pics of the yellow 2003.5. Some VERY nice professionally taken pics I should add. Probably the best pics we've seen of the 2003.5 yet. I think it was JasonH that posted them.....I really can't remember, do a search for the album.

I personally had the chance to get the first yellow 03.5 that was arriving at Mazda of Fort Myers, but found to many changes that I did not like. Shifter, exhaust tip, no fogs, rear wing and seating surface material. I like the 03 better, but as long as your happy with your 03.5, that’s all that matters. Diffirent tastes = diffirent Mazdaspeeds, that’s the way it goes. I would like to attach that lower front lip to my front lip if possible. That is one feature I really like about the 03.5.

Enojy your ride man!

I think that every msp owner on here is about to go postal on mazda...lol. I hope they come out with a fix real soon. Do you know of anyone that has proof of mazda actually giving a shit about the problem?

TURBO3WAGON

They gave me a case# for the problem, but I'm not sure that means much...

SaaBaaDoo
06-06-2003, 08:56 AM
did you post the #

TURBO3WAGON
06-06-2003, 08:58 AM
Yep, 301434 but it's tied to the car's VIN#. You need to get you very own case # so you can fell special just like me..:) :D :)

SaaBaaDoo
06-06-2003, 09:00 AM
Ahhhhhh! What did you do, call mazda about it or did mazda service call?

TURBO3WAGON
06-06-2003, 09:05 AM
Both, I got a diff # form Mazda. It looks like my VIN # = long number. The one I posted is what I got from the dealer.

SaaBaaDoo
06-06-2003, 09:08 AM
did they say that a lot of people have called or taken their cars in for this problem, or do you think that there are people that don't belong to this forum just letting the problem slide???

TURBO3WAGON
06-06-2003, 09:12 AM
I don’t know how anyone could let something so noticeable slide. I know a few guys here have had this documented at the dealers + sent letters to Mazda. Probably about a hand full so far. It wouldn’t hurt to set up a poll to find out how many have complained to Mazda.

SaaBaaDoo
06-06-2003, 09:38 AM
or better yet, maybe a group letter??? What do you think? Someone could type up a good letter, then add all our names and vin's or something?

Newf
06-06-2003, 10:06 AM
group letters won't work alone. Send them individually. You'll have more impact. Numbers mean more. Ideally, I would send both a group letter and individuals ones to drive them nuts. Their going to look at where the letters come from, what area, when the cars were made, what dealers, climate etc.

SaaBaaDoo
06-06-2003, 10:07 AM
anyone have an address? po and email?

TURBO3WAGON
06-06-2003, 10:12 AM
You can post it on the Mazda corporate web site. That’s what I did.

These are not pics of mine, but from another member on another board. www.mpsport.net. he's in BC, Canada.

I'm going to post them in this thread to try to keep them in the titanium pics in the same thread.

sorry if i sound like an ass here but does anyone else think the spoiler/wing looks gay? i haven't seen an MSP in person so maybe the pics just don't give it justice or something...

p.s. i am probably going to be buying an MSP very soon; so don't think i am hating or anything... just trying to get other peoples opinions on this...

Is the lip around (above) the "fog light holes" part of the bottom "bolt-on" piece or is it part of the large top piece (bumper). I have seen a few posts that I think were asking this in a diff way and I am still confused. I will be going to Mazda of Bedford (Cleve, OH)soon to see the 2003.5 (if they have em yet).

Newf, maybe we could set up a Meet and Greet in Upper State New York or Detroit when you get you 3.5. I want to get my car on the road for more than 20 minutes! HaHa Maybe create a thread if interested! 1244 (mspo) (drinks)

the lip starts from the bottom of car, go up around fog light holes. The lip your seeing all the way around the fog holes is the new 2003.5 lip, and not part of the older, larger bumper.

And, I thinking I'll have to turn down that meet in New York. Can you guess why? Hint: Look at my location.

our average summer day is usually about 25 C. Hot day being 30-35. We don't get a lot of 35 days though.

This is year is strangely cold. Usually much warmer by now.

Maybe that's why my smiley is sad...he's lonely, and cold :(

St. johns, our capitol, which is the place that everyone visits when they come to NF probably has the worse weather on the island, and people get the wrong impression. Very windy, rainy, and cold. I don't live there, and never plan on it.
