This is like the 10th damn cracked windshield on this forum and too bad it's mine.

These windshields must be weak.
Arrggghhh!

Now some chode has to touch my car and risk scratching it.
Do you guys recommend a dealer install -vs- a glass shop.

L8ter...

The company I used was a local company, but they do all the dealers' work in the area...everyone I talked to said they were the best...

I dodge big trucks on the express way like I'm playing frogger....I'm just waiting for a stone to put out a fog light or my windshield. I feel for ya Yashooa. Doesn't your insurance pick this up for free? I know several states have that type of offering.

Oh, BTW go easy on the heathen bashing:p

I havent gotten in touch with my agent yet so I dont know what the cost may be. I have good (expensive) insurance so there may be no out of pocket cost.

Oh I was refering to the average non-numeric Heathen not you numbered guys. You must have some kind of Heathen union or something. :D

I feel for you Yashooa,

Mine has cracked and I"m hoping to just seal it instead of getting the entire winshield replaced (which will happen down the road I imagine  )

just got hit this weekend, some *$%^&* in an exploder through it at me, and I wasn't even tailgaten. Little rock right at the top of the glass, right in line with the drivers seat. Ran like a bitch as soon as it hit.

I have a question. Say someone finds a Protege at a junkyard that doesn't have a cracked windshield. How much money would he save if he or she bought one from the junkyard?? And would a glass shop even put it in?

I think some shops might put it in and you would just pay for labor...but I doubt you'd get any kind of warranty...

I just payed $65 bucks to get my crack filled

( I know what you all are thinking.. and that's just plain gross! :D)

They put this pollimer (sp?) and used some type of heat pump to activate the chemical.... you can sorta still see the crack (but it's not going to spread until I get hit w/ another rock  )

OH the lady told me to slather on loads of RAINEX. She said that it helps protect against pitting, and shizzy like that.

(Do I believe her, no, but hey it's worth a try!)

I found a place to come to my office and replace the windshiled for 195.00$ So I'll probally just do that but fuckin-A I really hate throwing money out like this. I could had a badass boost gauge instead!

I had a 100.00 dollar deductible and I could have worked that into the price with the glass shop (dont ask) but I just said fuck it called my agent and had them take all th extraneous coverage off and raise my deductible to 200.00$
It cut about 1800.00$ a year off my insurance bill for both my house and my cars. I never ever in my life have filed a claim so I
said why-TF am I paying for a low deductible?
