well its a sad day i seen my baby go off to day without me in it and on a tow truck :( i think the turbo is fried due to over heating from the busted IC pipe, when trying to start it it will idle but will not rev past 2.5g and is smokin like crazy, i wish mazda would replace the plastic with coated metal pipe.

Those overboosting need to take heed of this new info. You don't want to be without your ride like I was for 2 months!!

Nothing automatically voids the warranty (except for ECU modification). It has to be related to the problem. But yes, if they catch the cam in there you will have a hard time getting them to do warranty repairs. Let's just say "yes" to question #1.

#2: Check Engine Light (CEL). The little orange indicator light that tells you when somethins is wrong. You can buy OBD-II readers to tell you what the ecu thinks is wrong for a couple hundred bucks.

I am not trying to scam warrenty.

I was out cruising in it earlier. Just got my Catco section done, and changed my oil to 20W50. I'm taking it easy on the car. All is good!:D

I'm faily certain the turbo is just fine. If I am not mistaken, the MSP's are running MAF sensors , so if there's a leak AFTER the maf sensor (in the intake path), the whole calibration of the car is thrown out of balance. That explains the smoke!! I'll let the Mazda Guru's explain why :p

So there is no overheating in that incident, the turbo probably was'nt even spooled when the pipe burst open.

You MAY have damaged internal components from that imbalance, but I HIGHLY doubt it. Since it died instantly, I'm sure no damage was done.

Keep us posted on the repairs!!

yesterday i got my rental it was a ragged out ford esquirt, burn holes in the seat e brake no work LOL and bald tires i wanted a diffrent one but there all out, ooh well and today i got a call from mazda saying my car was fixed :) W00T W00T it does sound a little diffrent but i a running the stock intake box so maby thats it. i noticed the exhaust pops a little more ( i have no cat back) at idle, i give mazda a godjob on the quckness on the work
