Dallas Auto Show - Feb. 27 - March 3

Just a reminder to all who said they were interested in going to the Dallas Auto Show at the beginning of March - March 2, to be exact.

I'll definetely be there on Sat. Mar 2. But I'm going to go there the first day it opens so that all the free stuff isn't taken before saturday. Everyone who's interested in going reply here and we'll talk about a meeting time and place.

Initial, I am still going. These are my plans so far:
1. Drive to Dallas Friday, March 1. Will
be there sometime that evening (probably
around 5 or 6).
2. auto show on saturday.
3. drive back to louisiana sunday.

i'm open to any and all suggestions to fill the rest of the time. especially if it means a few MP3's getting together.

i'll give more details as i get them (i.e. where i'm staying, etc.)

I don't know if I can meet before lunch. I work on Thursday night, but I am taking a vacation day on Friday, March 2nd. If I want to have energy, and not be tired, I better get my sleep that morning.

I will be making a trip to the Dallas Auto Show as well. I will get ther Friday afternoon and will stay till Saturday night. Dont know where I will be staying yet. Anybody have suggestions?? A decent place on a good side of town?? I would be up for meeting with anyone else who will be there. I will spend most of my time at the Auto Show gawking and drooling over the Nissan 350Z and probabley the RX8. Love both cars, the only reason I pre-ordered the Z was because it will coma out about a year sooner. :D Anyway, back to the point: Who will be up for meeting?? This is going to be cool as hell. I just got my new digital camera just in time for the auto show. It took me some time to decide, but the one that best suited my needs was the Sony F707, the new 5 megapixel camera. I have been testing it out and have found nothing but brilliant pictures. I will meet for lunch and take alot of pictures. I have a 128mb and 16mb card, I hope that is sufficient, I might have to lower the resolution.

Ok guys we need to set times. What do you feel like? Lunch then show? Meet at 12 somewhere to eat (I have no ideas because I don't know the area). Then head to the show at about 1:30. How does that sound? Or we could do this at night but I don't know how all of you feel about that. Start throwing out ideas. Here is my 2 cents,

I would rather do it early (around lunch) rather than night, for picture purposes, and it would be much colder at night.

I think we should meet up before around 11:00, wich gives us time to introduce ourselves and eat. Then take a few pics.

After that we can cruise in hopefully a huge line of MP3's to the auto show, and park all together.

Then we leave the auto show and cruise up to a park or something.

This should all take place on saturday.

Also if anyone is interested and is still in town, Thereis a car meet every sunday at river legacy in arlington, which is about 20 minutes from dallas, there is a hella lot of crotch rockets, plus tons of show cars that have bags, from the drop zone. The bikes meet up around 11:00 and head out soon later to go to an abandoned airfield to do tricks, usually about 40 or 50 of them. Then the cars show up at about 3:00, right after they all eat at hooters.

That reminds me, we should meet up at hooters before the car show. My girlfriend works there!!!!! the only problen is it is about 20 minutes from the auto show. She works at the one on collins and I-30.
But there is alout of cool ass cars up there. It is up to yall!!!!

Yeah, I'd rather go early like 11:00 or so. I can meet up for pics and stuff but my wife want's to go so I've got to hang out with her at the show. She'll get to see me drool over the models, haha. It's Thursday now so wee need to decide on a time and place. It's got to be an easy location to find for all the out of towners.

Hooters is a fairly easy place to find, it is on the corner of collins and I-20. Plus my girlfriend will be working, and it would make her happy if we ate there. But if it does not sound like a good place to go then I am up for anything.

Well I have bad news. My car won't be ready until next week. When I talked to Corksport and ordered my clutch, I specifically asked Ben if it had everything that I needed. He told me yes. When the clutch go here, it was missing the pilot or throw out bearing.. I think that's what they said. Anyway when dealing with Corksport, TALK TO DERICK, NOT BEN! I don't really feal up to the car show that much now since I won't have my ride. :(

People, If you are going to Hooters, and then to the car show, TAKE IT SLOW!! There are numerous wrecks out already due to ICE, yes I said ICE! It is tricky, cause it looks like water, but it is not! More like sleet. Just be careful folks.

Hey guys, I had a good time too. Sorry I was late for the Hooters thing and missed all that but the ice was freakin me and my wife out!!! That stuff never happens down here in S.A.. It made my car look really bad too. It was clean the day before, I swear!!! Anyways it was good meeting all of you all. I would be up for another meet definitely. Sorry for getin lost there at the end. Damn that place was crowded, wasnt anywhere near as crowded on Friday. Me and Ben managed to stay together and looked for you guys for a while but no luck. Yeah it was crowded. I thought that wouldn't happen because of the weather. I also got separated. Matt and I went to go look at the NSX and RSX and when we turned around we couldn't find anyone. We looked for about 20 min but like you TX, we didn't find anyone. I did have fun though and we should do something else. Maybe we should all go to an autocross or Drag strip. Those we have to do when it warms up though. Anyhow, if anyone can post some pics that would be great, maybe that video too.

Sorry I missed everyone saturday at hooters. i slept through the alarm saturday morning and woke up at 11. i was slightly perturbed. not to mention the ice on the roads. being from south louisiana, i don't have to deal with that, so it kind of scared me. The auto show was cool. DAMN i want a 350z!!!
