I have some spots on my car, one tailight and a line down one side of the hood, where there is essentially some excess adhesive, which, in the case of the hood anyways, from the white plastic that they cover the car with during shipping. Dealer told me how to get rid of it but I forgot and was too lazy to do it when i got the car. Used to be that after washing it, the line would be brown for like 20 minutes and the rest of the time it was pretty much invisible.
Now it is discolored almost all the time so its bothering me and I wanna get rid of it. I think someone told me to use "goo-be-gone" or somethin?? anyone have any tips on what I should use? and are they sure whatever it is wont harm the paint?
thanks
Albert

I used a claybar on mine before my first wax - that got rid of those icky lines and made it smooth as a baby's behind.

Magic Clay, is one way to get that crud off. Another way is to use WD-40. I used that stuff, and it works like a charm(thumb) !!! Did`nt even damage the paint or clear-coat. It also works great on getting tar and bug shit off your ride!

I've had masking tape stuck on my car in the pass, and it left the same icky glue lefted over. What i did was, after removing the masking tape, use the glue to 'dab' on to use the remaining glue to pull out the adhesive that you want to get off. It works well. Give it a shot.
If not, wash and wax your car concentrating on those areas that are most visible.

I have the same line on my hood slug. Will be trying bug and tar remover or a claybar over the next week or so.

Hmmm, maybe I'll give that a try... just a little anxious about the paint finish.

I had that sticky shit on my car also. It was on the back tail lights and some on the body. I took it right back to the dealer and told them to get that shit off now. They took my car and cleaned the whole thing. They even vacumed my car for me and cleaned the rims. All that just for some sticky gunk. HAHA At least they got it off.
