Also, these should fit 2001 & up Proteges (that would be the ES, MP3, & MP5) if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. Not sure if there have been any changes in the 2002 Proteges (I know it fits the 2002 Protege5)

Tri-point engineering:
http://www.tripointengineering.com/ http://silverstone.fortunecity.com/brabham/261/pricelist.html

No notice of these CF hoods on the site, so call them and ask:
TEL (818) 348-5385

This person above was warned not to post commercial advertisements. I define a commercial advertisement as a post that is not there to inform people but simply to make money. Furthermore if I allow commercial advertising eventually as this site and protege5.com get large I'll have every person who is selling any car mod come here and spam the board. I will make that rules page today.

Also. Before you believe what someone tells you "I can get it for this much, the store sell it for that much", you should call up the store and ask. Unfortunately this guy hadn't posted "they have it for this much here is the number". He said "they have it for this much I can get it for this much, buy it from me". That in my opinion is unfair to you guys as it doesn't permit you to make an informed decision. For all you know someone could rip you off.

My solution to this problem will be to establish a "retailer's forum" where retailers/resellers can post what products they are offering and at what price. They can only have ONE POST in there, when their catalog changes the old post is deleted and replaced with a new one. All commercial posts outside of that forum will be moved to that one. Obviously this is searchable so if you want a hood you'd search for "hood" and all the relevant posts would show up. I believe this would be most fair to everyone while keeping the unsolicited advertising apart from the other legitimate posts. It would also set limits within which people can commercially advertise.

Thank you for understanding.

First off, its going to be 455.00 if we can get the group buy together. Secondly, what exactly is a For Sale/Group buy forum here for if I cant post when I have parts for your cars. All I sell is parts for the Protege5, MP3 & 2001 ES. I started selling these parts as a service to fellow protege owners (I started it after I bought my own Protege5 because there was a need for this) If someone asks where they can get something, Im going to reply as will most of my customers like they do in all protege groups I've seen. And if I've got a new product coming available and I can get a better discount by putting together a group buy, I dont see what the problem is. So whats wrong with me trying to help fellow Protege owners out? Also, I've been in constant contact with Tri-Point and they are keeping me updated on all parts being designed for the Protege & MP3. Right now, that includes the CF Hood, coil overs & lowering springs with struts, & a few other things.

Send me a full list of all the products you are selling and at what price. I will make sure this list is posted somewhere for everyone to see. This offer extends to anyone that sells or produces or sells mp3/p5/es parts.

Thanks.

Well, in any case, that hood looks mighty fine. Definately being added to my future mods list. Maybe next summer for me. Is there any guarantee that the hood will be close to flawless?

The average shipping for hood runs from $90-up. If you have the hood shipped a shop it usually costs a little less.

Thing is with any limited edition car I think it's worth more if you keep it in good shape. In other words, if you get the CF hood make sure you can put the old hood back cleanly.

I called Tri-point engineering today for the CH hood. I asked them how much would it be for an individual order, and it will cost 475USD. Are you guys supposed to get a discount off that?

Sorry guys, I have been busy. I've had a few guys interested in getting it but most not till Feb. or so of next year. What Im trying to get is 10 people to order it up so I can do it for 455.00 instead of 475.00. Im going to try to be able to offer them for 455.00 or maybe a little more even after we get the 10 (the 10 will be a buy in type deal so hopefully after that, we can keep the same price on it or at least keep it under Tri-Points 475.00) Im just trying to offer the best price I can give everyone. Im trying not to just advertise the info in the group, thats why I havent been saying much :-) I do sell the stuff instead of setting up group buys (meaning I do make something on what I sell...even if not much!) just like if you went to any shop. But since I dont use this as my primary work (I do it as much for the fun & to offer what I can to fellow Protege owners) I try to keep the prices as low as possible. Now, shipping is going to range from probably 75.00 to 150.00 depending on where you are located. It is more (I think like 50.00) to get it shipped to a home address so business/shop addresses are the best. Also, getting a couple of people in the same location to have them shipped together should be a lot cheaper per hood. I dont have any more pics nor info on the hood itself. Im trying to get a little more info from them. Tri-point just sent me those pics. I've never dealt with CF hoods in the past & I dont have one here in front of me so when it comes to how it connects, Im going to have to rely on other peoples experience for now. I'll try to get some more info from Tri-point though. If you have any specific questions about the hood, please PM me or e-mail me so I can get the specifics from Tri-Point & straight to you. Again, sorry for the delay. Its been flooding around here & Christmas gets a bit hectic for me!! Oh, & Protege5online.com is my signature (seems to be messing up so Im going to go & fix it now). Thats my site.

I knew someone would bring this post back from the dead. If you do manage to scratch the hood, you might be able to wheel the scuff or scratch out. If you buy one, just make sure you have a paint shop add some clear coat to it. The gel coat will only last so long.
