what's the deal with the CAI???

i just have a question regarding the CAI for the P5....

how much benefit does the CAI provide? are we sacrificing torque for hp by adding the CAI? if i get a CAI system, wouldn't i need a better exhaust system as well as headers? i believe by adding a CAI we are increasing the amount of air intake to the engine so i guess it'd be logical to also improve the flow of exhaust out of the engine...... i guess my question is "how much improvement does the CAI provide w/ the stock exhaust and headers???

Maybe around 3-5 whp is what you're looking at for just the CAI. Headers aren't really available yet. With a cat-back system, you can expect to add another 5-7 whp.

You lookinf at more like 1-3 whp from a CAI. You have a couple options for headers, most require you to remove one of the cats.

I believe the OBX headers leave the emissions systems intact.
