26. Bought my P5 for a daily driver. Pulled it off the showroom floor Oct. 9 2002. 60,000 miles later she is still purring. Love this little car.

19 years of age. Sge was a replacement for my '93 Accord (189,000 on the original clutch, it was time to get rid of her while she still had something that could charitably be called a body). The difference is night and day and I'll never drive anything but a Mazda ever again. I love Lily to death.

This car fits me perfectly. Single urban guy who needs to occasionally get crap from Home Depot and garden centers, and haul an occasional antique store find.

It also restored my interest in driving. I had Hondas for years until they just got so boring I couldnt' stand them. Driving is fun again.

hehe the older people are not really lame, but they just perhaps don't have the time to get involved in a car theme. Cause really what is the Protege series??? Nothing but a average car, just like many other car clubs. But we still find value in it, in forming friendships and enjoying a little hobby. I was told by my Geico agent on the phone that the "magic" age for men for car insurance is 25. Once you hit 25, rates drop dramatically. Being married helps too, because I guess they feel you'll be too hen-pecked to do anything dangerous. ;)

Well, I dont know about Geico...everybody says how cheap they are, but yet I called for a quote and it was $100's MORE then what Im paying with Traveler's. They didnt save us any money with the call lol.

I learned to identify their headlights and taillights shapes too.
But in case when they are hiding behind other SUV or Minivan and you don't have a direct line of sight to them, the detector comes in handy.

Yeah, Instant-On or whatever it's called. Detector was supposed to pick that up too. It wasn't a cheap one.. Can't remember what it was but it was in the range of 250 bucks.

So far, only the Injen CAI, but the GReddy Evo2 catback is on order, and the Eibach Pro-kit springs are next. Oh yeah, I forgot... I already put on the Mazdaspeed billet oil cap... Ye-haw!

I love seeing what you all are doing to yours, great for ideas. My next thought is toward rims.

Also, thanks to info here, I've removed the cross bars on the rack (much better), and wired the fogs to to be able to come on with the parking lights also. (Very cool.)

Hi all. I'm Jon and I'm 19, will be 20 in Jan. I remember when the P5's just came out. I never saw a commercial for one but I saw one in a parking lot back on '02 and went, "Hey that's kind of cool..." I ended up with a '86 Toyota Pickup, but three years later I found another one. I've had my P5 since late June - interesting story how I got it. Over the summer I worked at a used car dealership as a detailer/carwasher/etc. The P5 came in one day, I did my "work" on it, took it for a "drive" to make sure everything was okay and then parked it where no one would find it (hehe). Within the week it was mine.
