Ok i was kinda in a hurry to go home and i was gonna back into my driveway. so i pulled the car up my neighbors ramp across the street. i wasn't going too fast, about 25mph. when my right front tire hit the ramp to my neighbors driveway i heard a strange *twang* sound and my break pedal vibrated. i'm worried now. anyone ever hear this? as i was backing into my driveway, i didn't have any problems. i'm just worried about the whole *twang* sound.

well correction. it didn't sound like a line snapping twang, more like a spring releasing twang.

i have had this problem numerous times it happens when your car is at a angle and one of the tires actually lift off the ground (yes our suspension is that stiff) its just the ABS nothing to worry about it freaks when you try to stop with a tire in the air

It took me a few days to figure that out as well, but mine does it even on flat land at low speeds. When I leave driveways that are even the slightest bit downhill, it does it, and almost every day when I turn off of my street. I understand it at high speeds, but not 5-10 MPH.

My prediction is the same as OrangeMSP's. Perhaps when you were rushing to back in your car, you hit the brakes hard to get it into reverse, so you hit the brakes on the hard side and maybe the ABS kicked in. And that caused the brake pedal to virbrate for a second as well as the 'twang' sound. It's normal on an ABS equipped car.
When you get the chancew, test out the ABS system and see if that's the sound you're referring to. If yes, there's nothing to worry about.

Well, if you lived near the E coast, this April blizzard would give you a good chance! In LA, however, wait for rain or find a dirt road, make sure there's nobody behind you, and hit the brakes hard!

Just make sure it's a wide road clear of any walls/trees/etc.. Especially if it's wet and you intend on slamming on your brakes. Totalled my first Accord pretty much that way..

Yeah rotating the tires on my ES is a breeze with the upgraded rear sway bar. When I jack up the front end with my rolling floor jack, the back end comes off the ground too. Talk about stiff suspension.

Sorry to get off topic, but yeah....like others said...it was probably just the ABS kicking in. It can be overly picky at times.

You have to be careful sometimes this can cause a bad accident. If you fly into an off camber situation like into a parking lot or something and have to make a quick stop you won't have any brakes at all because your ABS is trying to stop a tire that has less friction (air) than ice, so even though 3 tires are getting excellent grip the ABS works on the tire that is in the air and nearly leaves you brakeless. Someone is bound to hit something sooner or later.
