Is it just me living in Arizona or do the rear ends of our pro 5's get really dirty... Every other day I'm busting out the glass cleaner and cleaning off the grime... (argh)

no it's not just you or living in arizona. i live in MA and it seems that it has to do with the way the air goes around the car and rolls up the back. on cool mornings i can see the exhaust come right up the back of the car...so the grime is doing the same thing. be happy you don't have to deal with all the sand and salt we get all winter long!! lookin forward to spring!!! joe

Every hatchback I've owned that wasn't a fastback, picked up dirt on the tailgate like crazy. It's the way the air flows around the body. Just be glad you have a washer/wiper back there. I had a Ford Aerostart (Hey, eveyone screws up once in a while) that didn't have a rear wiper/washer (one of Ford's better ideas?) and you could not see out of the rear window nearly all of the time. I'm in MA too and even if the front of the car is spotless, there is always a thin film of grime on the back. I also noticed the exhaust hanging around right behind the car...its the sort of vacuum that a straight back creates.
You may see tractor trailers every once in a while with a big fiberglass bubble over the back door. That helps to prevent that vacuum which results in better gas milage.

HAH This is my reason for wanting a mid wing. Everyone hates the way they look but they are functional to a certain extent. A friend with a civic HB had the same prob and did a midwing and the problem went almost completely away. I only wish it didn't look so much like a door handle.

not a door handle, more like a grab bar for skate boarders. I totally think of the opening scene from "Back to the Future" when I see those.

I live in at the top of a hill in my neighborhood in So.Cal and the winds are horrible. I've noticed my car has an unusal amount of static that just attracts dirt and even the dust brush i have only moves it around but doesnt take it off. The damn stuff just clings to the car, especially after it's washed. all I can do is wash it again, :D

there's this guy from germany trying to sell the mid wing that is flushed with the hatch. it doesn't stick out like a shopping cart handle or a skateboarder's grab bar. it looks like the 93 civic hatchback bottom wing. i'm still deciding whether or not i like it.

Who out there has the autoexe wing? Richie from Auo RnD does right? Having that air flow over the top must help...

It's not just you. I hate it. Right after I clean it all up, it's dirty again within the 2 minutes it takes to drive from my alley to the front of my house. I think it's the air turbulence on the back of the p5 that kicks up the dust. Air flow sux on the back.
