View Full Version : Annoying board

As great as this car is, I'm continuatlly disappointed by the lack of maturity of the opwners of the car... it seems like this board is riddled, even plagued by late teenie-boppers with the attitude and maturity level to match their age. I would like to see some educated posts using well thought out opinions and eloquently stated points, and heaven forbid, maybe a quote or two from a reputable source to back up such points. It's okay to be young- I'm hardly over 21 myself, but having a strong point and making it well are simply an issue of having some class instead of using the "he said, she said" mentality.

I would like to ammend that most of these posts I mention tend to be in the "Performance" or "MP3" specific section, rather than the "Mazda" general section.

oh my!
Raerae,
while you've done a wonderful job illustrationg San Fran's point, I would imagine that if SanFran could fuck himself he would be spending most of his time doing that and not reading and writing posts on the board. He would probably never leave the house!

Thank you, Carson. And Raerae, I rest my case.

You know sanfranMP3, I don't want to be a bitch but I don't see you helping. You said that you want to see some educated posts and perhaps a quote or two from a reputable source. If I remember correctly, you posted a few "quotes" from "european car magazines" bashing the Civic, matrix and neon. If a magazine published the things you posted then that is fine, it is just one opinion, but the problem is, you refused to tell the name of the magazine that you obtained these "quotes" from. In order for a statement to be defined as a quote, it must be someone else's words and then you must cite where you copied those words from. The way you posted that, made it sound like a he said/she said statement which if I remember correctly, you pointed out as one of the annoying things about this board. If you want to state a problem with the board, don't be part of that problem, be the solution.

The members on this board are trying to learn, just like you and me. We can't tell everyone to leave or shut up otherwise many important points might be overlooked. I know some people on this board are annoying but don't blame the entire board for that.

It's interesting that people are taking my post so seriously. Please note that I did not single anyone out because I intentionally didn't want to start a "posting war" which is exactly what this has turned into. The quotes I posted were from CAR magazine and perhaps the posts were misinterpreted. I thought they were brutally funy takes on some of America's favorite small cars and figured I'd share them. Anyway- this has become entirely too serious and apparently too personal with some members, so I'll just avoid posting for awhile to keep tempers from flaring.

"Please note that I did not single anyone out"
"I'm continuatlly disappointed by the lack of maturity of the opwners of the car... it seems like this board is riddled, even plagued by late teenie-boppers with the attitude and maturity level to match their age."
(riddled and plagued) to me that meens you are singling out most of this board.
what you posted you should of kept to yourself and delt with it alone.
from now on BUDDY we will make a point to make sure our posts are up to your level of maturity.
as far as Carson and myself we were reacting to your arrogant post. what do you think would of happend? a number of post expressing our deepest sorrows for insulting your intelligence. come on man get real
from now on deal with it.
you are going to have to post some real good comments to pull yourself out of this hole.
REMEMBER YOU BROUGHT THIS ON YOURSELF BUDDY.
now lets get back to business.

By the way, why do things have to be so serious on these boards anyways?? yes...we are young and we love cars but aren't we still friends (actually we are a family)...I don't know about you guys but I like acting stupid and having a great time with my family and friends...SanFranMP3, you sound like you are 100 years old or something...I rather have my great grandfather in my car than you any day.. :)

SanFran, you arrogant, condescending prick. Who are you to come here and tell us what we should/shouldn't, can/can't say!? This is a forum for open discussion (note the word OPEN). If you feel the need to lecture people on proper board etiquette, go do it somewhere else. We are here to have discussions on our opinions as well as on facts. For a lot of people here, much of this material is new (we aren't all gear-heads unfortunately, and we don't all have time to go shopping around for obscure european car magazines and posting uncited quotes). I'm here to see what people have to say about my car, and they are free to say what they want. If you don't agree with what is said either a) don't read those posts, or b) find another board that's intellegent enough for your einsteinian intellect. Loosen up your belt and relax man!

Yeah, a flamewar!! Schweet. Let's check out this enlightened post.

You say: "Why must you guys be so immature?".

You get responses saying: "eat shit and die, asshole". And you say--"HAH! Proved my point!!".

Then you get other more enlightened replies saying basically: "you're not really being helpful". So you change your music to--"Why must you take me so damn seriously?"

Also, this is not a full posting war yet. A TRUE flamewar extends across several threads and hopefully different forums of the same board. For example, if every time you posted something, Raerae made fun of you, then that would qualify. I recall something like that with subywan and some other dude. Who was that other person again?

I believe most posts do have a specific point and most ( 98% ) get mature educated answers back. Yano I find it great that there is humor and sometimes child-like answers or posts as they are funny and I do laugh at them. Im 27 years old and love to talk trash.. why?.. Because its fun but only if you are mature enough to take humorish insults. If you are really barely over 21 my advice to you is lighten up fast, if you are worrying about posts on a website you need to be bitch slapped back into reality ( Humorus Insult )

I post on a lot of different boards out there(I'm a closet Star Wars fan so I post on those) and to tell the truth think that this board is quite mature and tons of fun to hang out at.

There are naturally more light-hearted posts, but I find when people post serious questions or comments they get the same types of answers. At least on other boards I've been on, starting a post with something inflammatory like saying "I'm continuatlly disappointed by the lack of maturity of the opwners of the car" is know as "Trolling", thus called because there are people(and I'm not saying this was your intent tho) that post things just to see how many negative responses they get.

Personally, I'm not coming into this thread to yell at anybody or throw insults....it's quite pointless anyhow, as it just breaks down into everybody acting like children on a playground. All I can really say is if you think there needs to be more mature threads and serious discussions about different topics, post some of your own and I know I'll show up and post there seriously as will many others.

Just to throw in my $.02 worth, I really don't give a shit. :) Post stupid crap, post a work of art, hell, I don't care! Just show me bad pics, give me sweet mods and specs, throw in some hot chics and some alcohol, maybe a little music, and make it a party! (Uhh, wait, a little off topic)
I feel sorry for SanFran. Well, maybe not him, but if he ever has kids, please tell me he doesn't have a TV. I wouldn't want them to be intellectually harmed and have some huge lawsuit filed against every broadcasting company so they all have to shut down and his now-retarded children are rich, but too stupid due to bad programming to know how to properly function in life. (Damn, I'm straying again)
Anyway, if you want politically correct, intelligent, non-childish information, well, chances are an automotive forum is NOT the place to be.
Oh, and by the way, I'm 28 with 2 engineering degrees. I love this stuff! It's great to see what the next wave of partiers and car freaks are into.
Ok, I think that was about $1.59, but you get the point.
Flame on buds! WOOHOO! :D

Damn, I can't believe I missed this post for so long. I don't trip off the people on this board since we are all car enthusiasts. We are all in this for the same thing.......to talk about, hook up, pimp out, g up, or just cruise in our cars. I'm 22 and have no problem mingling with the younger people

If you want high maturity levels, I say go to the Ferrari, and Porsche boards, people who are most likely 30-50 years old. ( not to stereotype) But if you come to a site about a car targeted at youthful adventurous people, that's what you get. And this board is pretty good, I like other people have been to other boards and this one is far from bad.
