i have about 3,300 miles so far on my MP3. No problems at all.

What is all this talk about Hondas "lasting longer" than all other cars? They are reliable cars, but Mazdas are too. I owned a 95 MX6 before this, and it never had a single problem. I owned a 88 323 GTX before that and there were no problems with that either besides replacing the axle once because i fucked up a launch in a drag race.

I'd rate Honda and Toyota about the same, and being the highest, with Nissan and Mazda not too far behind. Mitsubishi's are pretty shitty and so are Hyundais. I don't think Ford and GM aren't as bad as some make them to be, but I'm not saying they are great. There is a big share of completely shitty GM's and Ford....the 95-97 cavaliers being one of them (blows a head gasket every 10k due to a defect in the motor design), and Ford taurus had many problems as well. I could name plenty of other ones, but there are a few decent cars like the Escort, Lumina, Impala that were quite reliable.

If you take care of your car (regular oil changes, tune ups, and rotate tires, etc.) then ANY car can last you more than 200k miles without surprises (assuming it isn't a chrysler product ;)).

7,995 since aug. two oil changes also, My red 96 grand am had 137,356miles on it before i sold it to get the mp3. Never had a lick of prblems with it.

i have 7,800 miles i got it in late august got 1 oil change so far (mobile 1 synthetic) i have an apointment tues for a check up at the dealer getting wheels rotated and oil changed!

I have had mine since July 10th, and am just shy of 14K miles. I have had 2 oil changes, and (Royal Purple Synthetic) am getting another on Monday. :cool:

Sorry that I'm not an MP3 user, I'm a lonely P5 :)

I have 5,000 miles on the car so far, with one oil change under my belt (Mobil 1 synth). The car seems to be a great handling car (even better when the racing beat springs arrive). But the power isn't the best. Hopefully with the upkeep of the car I will have it well over 100,000 miles.

About Chevy, I owned a Z26, and would never put someone with the problems I had. Trans at 70,000, heater core at 75,000, ac at 80,000, ABS wires burned out at 50,000, 2 alternators, never had the rear defroster work from day one. I could go on and on about it but it gets rather stale quickly. I just want to remember the first day I drove the P5 and the smile I had on my face.

Just past 3200 miles on my Laser Blue Mica MP3, I got mine on 09-10-01. First oil change is due at 5000 miles, I plan on putting in Valvoline with some X1R products. No problems to report, although I must admit that I would be pretty pissed off if it had any so soon.

Had the car for about 4 months, and am almost at 8,000 miles. But next week, I"ll be in a new apartment w/ a carpool for work, and public transit system for the city. This baby's goin' in the garage for awhile- probably only put 100 miles/month from here on out.

Hey people just my .02 cents. but I have been jaround cars for a while and working on my own, even built a few of my own. and as far as I'm concerned synthetic oil should not be used until after at least the 1st oil change. (I wait until about 9000 miles to switch over.!) The reason I do this is because synthetic oil has such a great lubricating function that it does not allow the rings and some other parts to break in correctly. this is what i've read and been tolld numerious times. Just a heads up and it is only a suggestion! the car came with non-synthetic so it wouldn't hurt to leave it that way for a little while longer anyway!

I've got 2600 miles on mine got it on 9-25-01. already had one oil change at 1400 got another one in 200 miles. i'm using semi-synthetic(Durablend)

I've heard the same thing, but then I asked some other people the same question and they said that synthetic can be used right from the factory. Look at BMW and I think Porsche might do it as well. It's a touchy subject though.

One person says one thing another person says something completely different. And yet another guy said don't use synthetic at all. Who knows? everyone is gonna have an opinion on this.

I now have Approxamately 16,000 Mi. (I work 40+ miles away in Allen, TX) on my ride. The warranty will be gone in no time!

I bought mine in June and I put over 5,000 on mine so far. I changed the oil at like 80 miles and put synthetic in it and have changed it twice so far. I like the syntetic oil. I couldnt use it in my turbo II but I like it in the mp3.

I bought mine in Early May 2001 and have over 12K miles on it. And I don't enjoy driving it. I would be driving the '93 Protege DX if it was running. It feel that it is much more fun to drive the '93 than '01.

4,195 miles on my mp3 no problems but relay in dash clicking and carpet came up under drivers pedals which sucked but it should last longer then any gm product i am a tech at a gm store and they all suck. and i had a honda accord with 208,196miles on it that i traded for the mp3

Sounds like all these cars will be high milage. The later model MX6 with the V6 were like that too. Hard to find a low-mileage one because everyone loves driving them.

I have 12,000 miles in 6 mo. But am garaging it for awhile to let the age catch up to the miles.

I bought my car in august (6 months), now i have almost 13000 mi. Its a bit high millage, but thats what people do in LA. Especially my mazda is the most economical among my other cars.

Just hit 1200 miles (Yes that is one thousand two hundred) this past weekend during an autocross run. Bought it 12-01-01. This car lives in my garage for sunny days and race weekends. Maybe some day it will be the daily commuter, but until then, the daily diaper treatment.
