One question for you about the eyelines...
i got the grill and the lip already being painted in the bodyshop.... and now im struggling as to if i should get the eyelines too because they seem quite THICK.... does it cover quite alot of the reflector ? because the Police here is really full of it and they will give me a ticket....
thanks and once again... mad props nice ride

Actually it wasn't hard at all. The guy I took it to already had the index card cor the color code so he just followed that. He said that it was rather simple to mix and no too difficult at all. He can't figure out why body shops are saying the paint isn't out yet.

Is that the Autoexe lip? Where did you get it?

gyrospeed.
How's it going man? Nice pictures. Those eyelids are not so aggresive in my opinion but rather it gives the car a 'sleepy' appearance. Does anyone agree? ;)
Does it cover the light output at all?
The front lip looks good, when you installed it, did you have to take off the front bumper to remove all the screws from the wind spiltter then installed the lip? What did you use to hold up the lip other then screws?
The 3rd picture with the camera placed on the ground, it shows the clearance of your autoexe front lip and the ground. Seems like there is still a good amount of clearance to play with. You're still not in the danger zone for even the worse of roads. But after lowering, i think you'll need to becareful. Actually you'll still need to becareful when parking up close to curbs. Anyway, are you going to get those downforcers?
The WW roof spoiler is smaller than i thought it would turn out. I wish it was slightly longer, but overall i looks good  I like the added touch. Hurry up Mitch!
Is that TT stuck onto the black plastic? or is there a cut out on the plastic to house the TT?
So, what's next?
I think it's time to lower!

Thanks everyone!
does it cover quite alot of the reflector
The eyebrows don't cover that much at all. There is no way why cops should give you a hard time for these. Light output is still at about 85-90%.
Is that the Autoexe lip? Where did you get it?
Yes it is the fiberglass version of the Autoexe lip. I got it from another forum member.
Hey Limited! I know what you're saying about the eyebrows. I had both responses to them (sleepy and angry). It's cool though. I did have to remove the front splitter to put this lip on. It's being held by screws on the side and double sided tape on the front. I noticed that there is a lot of ground clearance from the pic but you really have to see it in person cause it doesn't seem like there is. If I lower it, there is seriously gonna be some problems cause I know it will scrape on some driveways (my girlfriends especially) and eventually crack. Downforcers are on the horizon but not anytime soon unless there is a group buy. The TT is not jsut stuck onto the plastic. There is a cutout for it to be stuck on to something behind it. Hope your visor comes soon!
I like the look. Not over done. Nice job!!
Hey everyone!! I Love My MAZDASPEED!!!!!!! (k) (k) (k)

Very nice!!!! Hey Vince.... give me a deal on those autoexe stuff. Did gyrospeed buy it from u?

Notice Gyro said "the fibreglass version" so that means he has the DG lip.. I have that also.
As for deals on Autoexe ... Hell YA of course for fellow Vancity members.... i just gotta wait on the word from Rishie and i'll give you the details coz Rishie is not avaliable these days.
Gyro :
Are those eyelines the Mintblues or Erebuni?
Where'd you get them how much?
So they dont cover much of the reflector? Coz i am looking at one of the sideeview pics you posted and i see that the orange reflector is almost half gone? Or am i just seeing things?
And as for police giving me problems........ if im living anywhere else in this world... they are ok.... but the Richmond cops are Pigs and they are harsh cracking down on imports..... the police states that anything that covers the reflectors of the headlight assembly is illegal! err..
This was exactly what I was going to do when I was getting the orange. I had everything ready to go, and then decided not to because the lip would strike on a few roads around here.
Nice, very nice.

Let's just say that I got a really good deal for the lip. Some work had to be done to it when I got it though but other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase. The eyebrow are from Erebuni. The intial cost is about $107 CDN shipped but then duty hits you for another $50. Damn duty!
Hey Initial, you're right about Van cops. They are harsh and will pull you over for ANYTHING. I personally don't think that the eyebrows cover that much of the reflector. Just my opionion.

im still undecided about the front lip. When i joined this forum a year ago i was in love with it, thought it looked sooo phat.....and still think it looks AWESOME on black, but on brighter cars, like our orange the more times i see em the more it looks to me like it makes the front too heavy looking....anyone else?
I remember how much I loved it when i first saw em when i joined here, and i wish i still ilked em that much cuz i have a msp now and i have the money for one so someone talk some sense into me!!

Hey Slug420
i'm totally with you. I was totally in love with the front lip at first sight when i saw it. It looks gorgous on the Mp3 blue and on a White P5, but now that i think about it on my car (orange) i also agree that it looks a bit 'heavy'. It's slightly on a clunky side, but then again, there's no other make for the front lip right now. So if we plan on getting it, this is our only choice. Maybe the DG half carbon fibre one won't make it as clunk. Since you hardly notice the CB lower part of the lip from a distance.
Have you ever seen this lip in person? I've seen it when i as in Vancouver on a midnight blue P5, and i was in love with it. YOu might change your mind on how it looks in person. I knew i wanted one for my car, and i still do.
If you plan on lowering with this front lip, you won't regret it. I think if it's about 3" off the ground you'll totally love it.
But you'll hate the shitty roads :D

I'll work out something for CAnada, like pallet shipment for savings. We can have two shipments. One to West Canada, and then to Toronto.
If it doesn't work out might be better to get from BPT. Talk to Morris. But we would love the business. If we get enough orders I can try and get a lower price.
Thanks, Rishie

Thanks again Brennan for the hookup on the lip! Can't even tell what I had to do it.

Great looking car, cept the eyelids in the last photo make it look 'stoned.'

I'm not too partial to the eyelids or the lip.
Lip: makes the car look like it's got a HUGE FAT LIP like someone gave it a smack and it swelled up.
Lids: Don't like the way they cut up the lines from the hood and fenders by adding more lines...

I'm doin a group buy on the DGM Carbon Fiber front lip. If you guys are interested PM me. Cost from DGM website is $375 + ship. GB cost is $336.60 + ship. Let me know.

EDIT: By the way. Love the car man. You sure did it right. Enjoy it.

PA_MP3_Man, is that lip half urthane and CB?
Or is the whole lip Carbon Fibre? because i looked at the picture and the upper part of the lip is painted and the bottom is just CB.
Can one paint the whole thing? What would the outcome of the CB look like with paint and clear coat on it?

if you read the details about the lip, it does say it is half and half. The top portion comes black, and it says you can paint it, or leave it black...I would be worried about how the two materia;ls are bonded together though...I'd hate to hit a parking curb and knock off the CF part.

How much exactly did u pay for the installation and painting of the lip?? Also, you said he had a card of the paint to go by, where did he get that?? Im seriously considering it if the cost is reasonable because it looks so bad ass.

Im lookin at the dgm fiberglass one for 300. I dont see the point in buying cf if ur just gonna paint it? (IMO it looks like shit if not painted) Is there a practical advantage to the CF one over a fiberglass one that i am overlooking?

Well, it's really hard to say because I got a bunch of things done at the same time. The card I'm referring to is one that almost every GOOD body shop should have. It's merely an index card that tells the color of the specific car and how much mixture of each paint to mix. I couldn't even beleive the MSP shouwed up on it. It showed up as a 2002 Spicy Orange Protege. Don't know what's up with that though.

Oh... thats bad ass. Sorry to be such an ass hole and pester, but could u give me a ballpark of what u might expect a shop would charge if they do in fact have the card for the thign to get painted/installed? I realize u dont really have the answer but ur my best resource from anyone here.

My guess would probably then be about $150 - $200CDN painted and installed from a shop.

Maybe I'll put it in a show in Van but definitely not HIN. Post some pics when you get your stuff on.

Umm to my knowledge the suspension is different...well at least thats what my Mazda ppl tell me......
plus when i park next to my friend's MSP... it is lower than mine by quite alot.......
There are wheel gaps seen on my MP3 and really small ones only on the MSP

hey limited edition, are you going to the meeting of mazdas on april 5th? I'm goin maybe i'll see you there.
Limited Edition
03-22-2003, 07:35 PM
INiTiAL33 - I'm very sure that the suspension set up is exactly the same. An MSP should not be any lower then a Mp3.
The only changes to a MSP compared with a Mp3 is something to do with the bushings or shocks. Mazda wanted to perfect the suspension by adding or changing a few things but didn't change the parts. I'm not 100% sure though.
brennan, I was planning on organizing a pre-meet on April 5th. Since many of us don't know one another, i thought it would be better if we met only MSP owners before that actual meet (maybe an hour or two before), so at least we could feel more comfortable going their to meet even more strangers.
 What do you think? I think it would be cool to see a bunch of Orange MSP's cruise their together and represent Mazdaspeed by parking all together too! :D
There are already a few of us, like JY speed and Colourwolf (on this board) who want to do this. I imagine Artitek to join us as well too since he got his car today. If i can get in touch with dpmmsp, i'm sure he'll come too!
So, here's already a nice list of MSP owners.
Join us and represent! :)

Hey limited that sounds like an awsome idea! Do you have plans on where to meet? and time?
Limited Edition
03-23-2003, 06:55 PM
brennan,
Everyone seems to agree on a pre-meet for MSP's only on April 5th. So, i'll get a exact number of people and we'll see where everyone is comfortable with location. I'll try to fit to everyone's liking. I'll make sure we all agree on location for the pre-meet.
In terms of time, i don't plan on going to the Meeting of Mazda exactly at 11:30am that morning. First, that's waay too early for a meet and secondly, it's going to be boring just looking at the same thing over and over. So, what i as thinking was to have the pre-meet at around 11:30am and hang out for about 30 mins ( to wait for late comers) then begin our drive to Sherway at noon or so. So we should be there a few minutes after 12:30pm which is probably when all the other cars are there. Then, we'll make our GRAND entrence! :D :D
MS representin'!
(lol)
I will make a new thread for more upcoming info for this pre-meet in the next week or so.
