Where can I get some lowering springs for my MSP? I dont want to spend the money on a skunk2 coilover setup so can I just lower springs instead?

JIC doesn't make lowering springs for the mp3/msp.
however there are full coilover set ups from JIC that are really sweet.
just for springs though, id recomend the spool springs. nice drop, no real problems so far.
anyways if you want a coilover anyway, the ground control's are better than the skunk2's.

ya! a link to the spool springs would be sweet, are they as stiff as the racing beats? stiffer, etc. ? i was strongly discouraged by sum members in this forum for not gettin eibachs.

But will it sacrifice any of my handling to drop it with different springs? How different will my ride be from now? Also links links links!! ;]

spool's are the same spring rate as the stockers, so you dont loose anything, but might increase handling from the lower center of gravity.

nvm I think I found it http://www.spool-turbo.com/sp08.html if those are them they say they drop 2" but since our car is lower than the p5/mp3 it will drop it more like 1.5" right? Or no?

I got a greddy boost controller, and greddy turbo timer. The guy who installed it said I should expect gains of about 15hp right now from around 6psi (stock) to 9psi (what im running at now) I can definatly feel it.

15hp... thats the same gain the injen CAI was doing. bit dissapointing but im sure it FEELS differant. :-(

well remember thats only 3 psi difference about. Thats good for 3 psi. Once I get all those mods (and some beefed up internals) with my Boost Controller I can push around 14 psi when im all done and I hope when im done with everything to have around 230hp. +60 from stock.

point taken, keep it up. im saving up just for looks... i think im a bit of an extremist on the forum when it comes to looks. i want springs, 18 or 19" wheels, CF hood, CF mirrors, CF tails, and tint. most people on this forum wouldnt like to see it done but i think itll work.

same. lol but performance first! check out these they come in 18" http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/RSLimited/limix.gif

heck ya. if youve seen the konig imagines... thats what id really love but they are really expensive. so u think a combination of CF hood, mirrors, and tails would look good?

so spool springs will fit on the MSP? Anyone have some pics of them on their P5 or Mp3?

LiLiTaLy, The spool springs will fit the MSP because it is the same suspension set up from the Mp3. Ask MP3skaterNC for pictures, he has a set of spool springs on. It's looking great (thumb)
MP3skaterNC, how's your clearance now? have you ever scraped the bottom while driving? Any speed bump problems?

how much more will spool springs drop my car than my stock mazdaspeed springs that is the real question!

When they say 2" all around, i personally don't think you'll be able to get that drop. With the MSp already lowered slightly, i think all you'll get after settling, is about 1.5". But this is just a guess, you gotta ask the guy who has the actual springs on!
