Hey, just wondering if anyone has contacted Callaway about the possibility of enhancements for our cars? This seems logical although I am 99% sure they would tell us nothing.

in my opinion, i don't think Callaway will do any good to enchance our cars. They may know our turbo well because they built it. But it would be hard for them to build you something to make our cars perform any better. Simply because there isn't enough demand that we would want more performance and for them to just make something for you will cost you a lot of $$$. What is it that you want from them? There's enough aftermarket parts going around for you play with at the moment.

Can't hurt to try. The worst that can happen is they say no.

I plan on doing this. Callaway is like an hour from where I live. Havent had a chance to do so yet. Moreso than ask them to build something for our car, I was thinking of asking for their input. As engineers who looked at the engine and decided how to improvie its performance, i wouldnt be surprised if they had other insights about "we tested it with a 3" downpipe and it showed great gains" or "a new intake will give you the most noticable gains".
Of course, due to legal crap with mazda they probably wouldnt even be able to tell me anything even if they DID have insight into the matter......but oh well - i do plan on stopping in sometime tho

I might possibly have an "in" at Callaway...
1st - I live about 30 to 45 minutes away, and could stop in when I get the chance (haven't though, cause I'm never down in that area).
2nd - My friend works at a Restoration/Auto Body shop and has actually done some painting for the people at Callaway, including the hard intake charge pipes in the MP3 they used to test everything initally. He is also friends with one or two of the people there.
I'll see what I can find out in the next week or two (I know it's a while, but you can't just bug them like that). I'll keep everyone updated with what I find.
